1Gbps Powerline Vs 802.11ac - What's better for Steam in home Streaming
CyrisXD replied to CyrisXD's topic in Networking
Yeah I'm aware of that, but should give enough throughput to stream 1080p. I'm wondering if a direct connection through Powerline will give a notable difference in latency. -
Hi all, My current set up: Host -> WiFi -> Router -> WiFi -> Macbook Gaming at 1080p/60fps on 802.11ac is pretty good with the occasional stutter. Running Ethernet isn't the easiest choice right now so I'm considering Powerline adapters. The thing is, I want to create a direct connection instead of going through the router for a better streaming experience. House is fairly new, built in 2005 so wiring should be good. Host -> Powerline -> Macbook Has anyone had experience between 802.11ac and 1Gbps powerline adapters for in home steaming?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a miniPC to add to my lounge television, so that I can stream games from my gaming rig on a wired LAN connection. I don't want anything that couldn't get 1080p/60fps. Been looking at Intel NUC's but not sure which version of hardware that is reasonably priced would achieve that streaming. A few available here are the: Intel NUC Asrock Beebox Gigabyte Brick Asus VivoMini I would like to buy from here: http://www.pbtech.co.nz/ As I have an account there. Any help appreciated. Cheers Edit: Yes I'm aware of the Steam Link, but reviews haven't been great, frame drops, stuttering, etc...

If I won this, I will pass it on to someone who really needs an SSD to bring their old computer back to life again. That's what the PC community should do.

Just tested Fallout 4, Ultra settings at 1080p, lowest 45fps doesn't go over 70fps. Does that sound right to anyone else?

GPU Core clock? I haven't touched it. I just tried reverting back to the old driver. Did another run and 3DMark still reporting strange clocks for GPU.

No overclock on VRAM. I just tried pre-defined cpu profile for overclocking on my MOBO, pushes my 4770k to 4.3Ghz. Temps stay under 70 degrees on load. Here is the new FireStrike - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10651520? Any reason why GPU is showing such low clock speeds?

Right, after much research I realized my RAM timings were incorrect. After setting XMP, voltage is correct and timings are correct. I've also set my CPU Multiplier x40 - 4Ghz. After testing in game again, the lowest FPS I saw was 39fps (Before 32fps). Jumps to 60fps rarely. I ran another Firestrike and score is higher but specs seem off, apparently time measurement inconsistencies happened - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10650920? FYI: "Graphics driver not supported is the hotfix driver provided by EVGA.

Here is a link to my GPU-Z log file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/26xxcko6fhns7hg/GPU-Z%20Sensor%20Log.txt?dl=0 Yes but changing it lower doesn't make much of a difference. Yes I tried Witcher 3 maxed out. Jumps between 40-60fps. Not bad but I'm pretty sure other 980ti's get higher on 1080p

I just did a complete format and reinstall of Windows, fresh driver installs, directx and everything. Nothing has changed. Still dipping to 30fps =\

Nope and Vsync is already turned off. I'm so confused, need to figure out if I should return my card or not.

Have you tried using a rubber band? Sometimes the rubber creates enough friction to turn the screw. Image

Looks like a pretty good system to me.
