  1. Good Morning All, A cheap desktop I have I believe has a defective power supply, crashes once in a while, power shut off if you bang the desk just right. I wiggled the power cord and the outlet in the psu unit seems loose. Any suggestions for a replacement psu. I think it shorted my last video card, put a new one in there Not sure How to check the MB for damage ( is there a self test i can run ? ) Radeon RX 550 4Gb MB: MSI H81M-E33 CPU G3240 @ 3.1GHz monitor Dell E207WFP DVI Cable This is how it came out of the box https://www.cnet.com/products/cyberpowerpc-essential-k-ek3000-pentium-g3240-3-1-ghz-4-gb-128-gb/specs/ Cheap Turbolink Switching Power Supply Model ATX-XG500w 12v Thank You Diozark

  3. Hi All, Please take a look at this build. I would like to install it on a test bench or open case. Intended use Steam Games, Music file Conversion Software, Go Pro Videos & Editing and Benchmarks Software. Thanks. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/HXfCmG
  4. Not Bad except for the SSD ? Why that one ? Bleh !
  5. I signed up for the giveaway, I like the format of Vessel, Nice smooth Black background, Tiles for the channels is good, except it might be difficult to find something to watch. The Layout reminds me of another website, Simple, Direct, I don't recall seeing any ads, which is very good. I dont want to see any advertising , its annoying. Im not advertising so I put the link in the word website. I noticed people get very fussy in the forums If I post something and they dont like it. If you want to look go ahead, Your choice. Just put it there for comparison to Vessel's Layout, ( appearance ). Too much stuff to look at , not enough time.

    Hi

Hello All, I am new to Linustechtips, I would like to learn how to build gaming pc's Budget Builds, Middle of the road, and High Ultra Platforms, ( whatever that is ) Is there a college course that I would benefit from, I tried learning from you tube videos, and the forums but Im just getting confused, lol I have intelligence, Just need a direction to focus it on, My Background is Electrical Theory, Basic Ohm's Law applied it to Electrical Construction for 18 years Phd Harley Mechanic, Currently an Electrical Inspector for the most complicated electric commuter train in the world, boring ! lol Pretty good at finding software, installing it using it removing it, Know how to find annoying browser extensions from a bad download and get rid of it. I have accessed the bios once or twice on older machines. Played around with Linux, but Im not a programmer, recently tried putting linux on an S10 Lenovo, but couldnt figure it out. ( Windows XP no longer supported ) I would love to build custom cases, Like taking a fine piece of furniture ( and making the top open and all your components are built into the desk itself ), custom cooling and air filtration etc etc. I have seen some huge problems with The current method of building pc's with respect to ( The Cases ), doesnt make sense to always have to cram everything into a small space, whats wrong with spreading things out just a bit, so when it comes time to service it, You may be actually able to work on individual components, and not disrupt the other components in the build ? Basically I want to do my own work, Build a new brand. But I need to learn How to build the thing, first. then I can make changes to it, and test it, see what the differences are. I found the most challenging thing for me right now is Matching components, The Basics. Doesnt do me any good having someone tell me what to build. I started A+ certification, but couldnt finish, Not interested in Yearly Continuing Ed Classes, which are mandatory in Connecticut . Thank You look forward to making intelligent posts to the forums in the future, Diozark
  7. Just a thought, Where are the electronic components we use manufactured, ? Mostly china right, So China propbaly already has everything they want to know about you !
  8. Good Morning all, Question: The advice to use Dual Channel, but a MB with Four slots ? Is there a less expensive MB that has only two slots for Ram ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132052 I have a Kingston Hyperx 3k 240Gb SATA III SSD already. Intended Use: COD UO, Steam Games Goal: Minimal Cost AMD Original Build http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/CwrnTW Intel Original Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/wqqQzy Intel Modified Build based on suggestions: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/sJxPxr Here is some help I received from dmanschramm I think the build is great, and the 750Ti will play 1080p at roughly 60fps (maybe not ultra but high settings definitely -> it'll play BF4 at roughly 35fps on ultra) But I do recommend going with a Pentium G3258 (which is EXTREMELY overclockable) and a Z97 board (whichever you want, motherboard doesn't impact performance, but I personally prefer Asus) which will get you drastically improved performance for minimal cost. Looks great! You might want to get a dual channel 8x2 RAM for expandability. Also, a better PSU would allow for upgrading and better overclocking for better processors. Thank You
  9. Hi dmanschrammHow's this: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/sJxPxr Added More Ram 4x4gb latency 7 http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Diozark/saved/sJxPxr
  10. Wow, Thank you Very Much !
  11. Hello All, Opine on this First Build, No Budget, but trying to spend as little as possible So I can practice Building Desktop PC's. And Play Games like COD UO and Steam The Hunter Primal on Ultra Settings. Thank You http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zRprXL
