  1. Tried. That didn't work either. Unless both of my flash drives have logic chips...
  2. Hi. I've been trying to install Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS from a bootable USB stick but every time I try it, I get that error: "ACPI PCC probe failed" . "Try Ubuntu before you install it" gives me the same error. Right now I'm using Linux Mint. I installed it from a CD that I had lying around for a few months. It didn't give me any error. Any ideas of what might been causing it? I did quite a lot of research and tried things but nothing seems to work. Thanks.
  3. So if I downclock a 1866MHz, CL10 stick, to 1600MHz, would the CL also "downgrade" to CL9? I knew that I could downclock the speed of a stick to match another, slower one, but I didn't know I could do the same with the CL.
  4. Hi. Back when I made my rig a few years ago, I bought a Kingston HyperX blu - 4GB module (DDR3, 1600MHz, 1,65V) . A few months ago I thought that it was time to upgrade to 8GB, and I realized that memory was discontinued, replaced by the FURY (Same specs but 1,5V) so I was going to buy that one, but I've been having trouble finding it where I live. I only found the exact same FURY, but 1866MHz instead of 1600. To avoid compatibility problems with my current memory, I was going to buy 2 of the last ones to make 8GB, but I don't want to throw away my current memory, so I was going to have 12GB. My motherboard runs in dual channel, and with two at 1866MHz (the new ones) and one at 1600... I don't know if it's going to work (as seen in this video youtu.be/-D8fhsXqq4o) . So, what should I do? 1) Wait until I find two FURY at 1600MHz. 2) Buy two FURY at 1866MHz now. 3) Buy another DDR3 at 1600MHz memory. 4) Any other option? Thanks.
  5. Yep... That didn't work for me. What did you mean "follow your own topic!" ? I did that. Thank you. I think I'll need to buy a bigger case if I want multiple displays so I can use all of the graphics card ports.
  6. Hi. I wanted to play a video on my TV via HDMI. I couldn't connect the HDMI cable because my case is too small so the HDMI port is very on the edge and the cable just doesn't fit. It doesn't matter. I plugged the cable into the HDMI port on my motherboard, but Windows (8.1) doesn't recognize it, so I went to advanced settings and I disabled my GT 640; I thought that by doing so the only thing the PC could do would be to show the image of the HDMI port on my motherboard, but it doesn't. Actually, the image I'm seeing on my monitor right now comes from my graphics card DVI port (with a much lower quality, as if the graphics card wasn't actually running) I've previously disabled, so I don't understand anything. How I can enable my graphics card again? And then, when I solve that, how can I use the HDMI, VGA and DVI ports on my motherboard to have like 6 monitors (3 on the motherboard and 3 on the graphics card) at the same time (or in this case a monitor in the DVI port on the graphics card and a television in my motherboard HDMI port) ? Because every time I connect another video cable (DVI on the graphics card is the main one, I only have one monitor) everything is ruined and I have to actually take my graphics card from the computer and put it back again to like reset everything. I could do that now, but it has to be another way. Thank You. Sorry if this topic has to be at "Displays" and not at "Graphics.
  7. Those were very quick answers. You solved my question. Thank you very much!
  8. Hi. That's the question. Just like there has no sense to force your GPU to 200 FPS in video games if your monitor is 60Hz only, does it make any sense to play videos at YouTube at 1080p HD if the maximum resolution of your monitor is 1366x768? Thanks.
