  1. I am looking for a pair of speakers for my setup at Uni. I want a pair that sound quality but don't distort at loud volumes (obviously for uni parties). I have seen some Mission 732's and also some Tannoy Mercury MK2's locally both at around £60.Both have a fairly decent sensitivity, would these be good options? (also some Pioneer S-X430's but I don't think they're in the same league as the other two)
  2. I bought a Surface Pro 4 last year, and it's still under warranty. I have been using OneNote recently and have come across a couple screen defects. The first is a white pressure spot (didn't show up very well on camera but you can google similar faults) and the second is a fair amount of light bleed. I understand that you get light bleed with LCD displays however, when you pay £2000 for a device you expect it to be faultless. I have attached some images, so you think this is worth bringing up with Microsoft support for an exchange/repair?
  3. I have just tried this, the issue is sporadic which makes it hard to diagnose but hopefully this solves the issues.
  4. I've had my Surface Pro 4 for about 6 months now and I have been living with its crappy WiFi for the whole time and I've decided it's finally time to see if this isn't a unique issue. I have had multiple WiFi issues: 1. Whenever I put my surface to sleep for more than 10 minutes then wake it back up, it disconnects from any connections and I have to disable and re-enable the adaptor 2. Sometimes I click on the internet access symbol (bottom left) and no networks are found and I have to disable and re-enable again to resolve the issue 3. The WiFi can just randomly disconnect and I can't reconnect (even though my router is running perfectly fine) 4. Sometimes when I navigate the status section in the Network & internet settings, I can't click on anything and the whole page just freezes and I can't click on anything to do with resetting the wifi adaptor or anything. It's just so bad, does any other Surface user have this problem and/or a fix for this problem?
  5. Can people with experience with these coolers just sum up the benefits and disadvantages of each and help me make a decision? Thanks
  6. Can you guys please sum up or give your opinions on what you think the best camera and flash combination is for around £400-£500 (I don't mind second hand / refurbished). I go to lots of parties and gatherings, all outside or in houses with low lighting, and need a way to capture these events. I also like taking portraits of my friends but my setup atm needs a needed upgrade! Thanks in advance

    Will this work ?

Technics SB-CS50 (super old speakers) which say "Input: 120W, Music: 60w Impedance: 8ohms". Paired with a cambridge audio a1 amplifier?
  8. Okay, well what about Technics SB-CS50 (super old speakers) which say "Input: 120W, Music: 60w Impedance: 8ohms". Paired with a cambridge audio a1 amplifier?
  9. I've seen a lot of comments on videos where people are reviewing 1000w+ speakers and everyone says that they won't actually put out 1000w. So I was just wondering would my 2 wharfedale delta 30's (75w rated) actually output 75w each? I'm looking for a new amplifier and can only find ones that are like 60w per channel or below. Would that be powerful enough for my speakers or not?
  10. https://www.amazon.co.uk/XCSOURCE-Converter-Convert-Adapter-AH149/dp/B01ER2Z1A0/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1492345736&sr=8-7&keywords=scart+to+hdmi This was the converter I was planning on getting, will this be decent?
  11. what do you suggest then?
  12. What's the best way to play PS1 on my HDMI monitor? (and don't say buy a ps3/ps2) Will buying a playstation RGB scart cable, then connecting that to a scart to HDMI converter work well?
  13. well if you leave them in there on state when the power is turned off at the plug they will come back on to their on state. Other than the ps4. But I hardly use that so wouldn't want that on anyway
  14. Yeah it says that my microphone can't be used with cortana. Its besides the point anyway the goal was one echo command to turn off the whole setup.
  15. Okay so does anyone know of a way to link Alexa to shutdown the PC?
  16. I'm creating a smart room with the echo dot and I want all of my desk electronics to turn on with a command. (amps, lights, pc) The cheapest way I've found to do this is get a Wi-Fi enabled plug socket and just connect my extension leads to that. However will I come into issues when it turns off my pc from the wall? I never turn off my PC with applications running anyway and if I was going to be running the command no programs would be running. I've already set in the BIOS so that the PC turns on when the power is on. Thanks
  17. How can I protect from 'DOS' attacks etc then like someone else said
  18. I've got a timer plug, 4 hours on charge 4 hours off charge *repeat*
  19. Yes I know these things but I'm asking for solutions as to how I can overcome these problems
  20. I have recently stopped paying monthly for server hosting as I lost my job and couldn't afford it. My minecraft server went down because of this and I want to bring it back up. I thought maybe I could turn my laptop into a 24/7 running server as its basically unused and I could assign most of the ram to the minecraft server. However I want to know what steps do I need to take to make it 24/7. I've written a script to restart my server if it stops or crashes but I want to limit the amount of time it stops or crashes. How do I keep my forever changing ip the same? I just need advice as to if its even possible Thanks!
  21. Really £90+ just to achieve the average speeds I pay for?
  22. Thats the thing range isnt even a problem. When I use my Asus PCE-N15 wifi card I get full bars and a reliable connection. Its just slow! Same deal with my ethernet running through the powerline
  23. I had bought a cheapo Asus PCE N-15 wifi card for my new PC. It performed so badly (10-15 Mbps) that I scraped that right away as I heard powerline adaptors were faster. Using this adaptor I get around 5mbps more, however I get 60-80mbps on every other WiFi device anywhere in the house. We use BT internet (largest in UK) and are supposed to get guaranteed 75mbps+. I can't run on Ethernet directly as my router is downstairs. What can I do to get my speeds up to what we pay for? Please help
  24. My sub is only a 60W Samsung thing I bought of Gumtree for £10 so maybe this will be alright? https://www.amazon.co.uk/KKmoon-TPA3116D2-Subwoofer-Amplifier-DC12V-24V/dp/B01EJNY4MI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1472577244&sr=1-1&keywords=TPA3116
