  1. Damn, you have a pretty good 6700k. I need to run 1.355 volts with LLC at L5. For 4.8 ghz I have to bump the voltage to 1.415 and be willing to run 80° temps, haha.
  2. I just upgrading my motherboard and cpu today from the Asus Z97-AR & i5 to the maximus hero VIII & i7. With my precious set up, I had an Asus DG sound card for my two speaker set up (connected via optical audio) and my subwoofer (connected using its mono cable). With the software included software I was able to properly set up the 2.1 sound through the 5.1 option (though, it did give me problems with surround audio when playing movies occasionally), my problem now is my new board doesn't have the pcie spot for this sound card. I have been trying to use the on board audio, but I'm having problems with my subwoofer not producing sound. Instead of using the optical cable for my stereo speakers, I switched to the stereo cables, but that didn't help. In the sound configuration I used 5.1 and set it to 2.1 by removing the other speaker options. Drivers are all updated. Any help will be appreciated. Let me know if you need more information.
  3. I was simply wondering if powering a GPU with the included splitter cable and only using one PCIe cable from the PSU would hinder your overclocking capabilities? Should I use two PCIe cables coming directly from my PSU to the GPU, or will using one with a splitter be sufficient? I couldn't seem to find any information on this myself. Thanks for the knowledge! PSU: Corsair AX 860 platinum. GPU: Asus 980 Ti
  4. While I play the Witcher 3 with my single 980 at 2560x1440p DSR, GPU settings set to the highest, AA to the second highest option, and hair works is set for the main character models, I maintain 60 FPS, occasionally, when I bring the camera up to Geralt, my frames will drop to 51. As for the monitor, cannot wait to pick it up.
  5. Also waiting for the monitor to release in September in America. I really hope the quality control holds up on this monitor. I will be sorely disappointed to see this line plagued by something that should be held to a higher standard in the first place. I realize a lot of people seem to be complaining about this monitor's price tag, $1200 American/1000 Euros, but this monitor should last you at least 5 to 8 years at a minimum, hopefully. That's only about a $150 a year investment. I know I am looking forward to playing my games in 21:9 aspect ratio, 3440x1440p resolution, up to 100 fps, g-sync smooth , & the curved screen will be a nice addition as well.
  6. With G-sync enabled, the variable refresh the monitor is able to achieve is between 23 and 100hz. This 100hz is possible due to overclocking the G-sync component. While the standard refresh rate will be at 75hz I believe.
  7. It's the monitor I will be picking up two weeks after its release in North America. Waiting the two weeks to see how the reviews go to make sure the monitor doesn't end up like the Asus ROG Swift monitor. I am glad I decided to wait to pick up a new monitor, because an ultra-wide IPS 1440p G-sync monitor that has a refresh rate higher than 60 hz is exactly what I wanted. The fact that it is curved doesn't really appeal to me, but I'm sure it will be nice. My phone has a curved screen and it is pretty sweet. The Asus model that has almost the exact same specs is too glammed up for me. I am not a fan of the ROG scheme it has going on it.
  8. Acer has confirmed that their XR341CKA model will have a refresh rate between 23hz and 100hz while G-sync is enabled. They were able to achieve that new refresh rate by overclocking the G-sync module. Personally, I prefer the look of the Acer model over the Asus model; I am not a huge fan of how the ROG scheme looks. I would assume Asus will be able to obtain the same refresh rate. I myself will be purchasing the Acer, and I am quite excited for the ultra wide platform. As for where the technology is for a 144 hz IPS curved screen is, just as Bimmerman has said, it is speculation at this point. For all we know, they are already developed theoretically, they just need to create the physical process. Or it could be a couple years from now. I have only used a 60 hz screen, so I am not sure how it is going from higher to lower.
  9. I mostly buy my hardware online from Newegg and Amazon. I occasionally pop into Microcenter though. There is a mom and pop computer store down the street from me, and I went in once but it look really sketchy so I decided to not look around for very long, haha.
  10. This is what I have been waiting for. Personally, I prefer how the Acer model looks compared to Asus competing ROG model. The ASUS model looks too childish for me. Where as the Acer looks a lot more professional. The only thing I was a little iffy on was the refresh rates for either monitor. Now that Acer says they are pushing 100mhz. I am completely sold on their model. I might wait a couple weeks to purchase to see some reviews (I don't want what has been happening with Asus's ROG Swift monitor to me), but I think the Acer X34 is going to be the one.
  11. I've had mine for a couple weeks now, and i have to say it's working quite well. My temps at idle are around 25 degrees celsius; my temps under benchmark load hits around 88 C; while gaming, primarily BF4 or Dying Light, my temps are around mid to high 40's. i5-4690k oc @ 4.55

Vessel Username: KEGruber Vessel Videos watched: https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf https://www.vessel.com/videos/G-DUjgUyY Vessel seems pretty cool; I like how the video watching is set up, but I am not a fan of the 400 max character amount when posting comments. Youtube has spoiled us with a larger amount of trolling in our comments.
  13. Can't wait to see a review. This, or the H110 are the ones I have my eye to purchase.
