  1. Ok so if im wrong and broadwell is comming even in the next month, it would be pointless waiting till then if Skylake is comming later on this year
  2. Im pretty sure Intel isnt releasing a Broadwell desktop CPU, Skylake however is expected to be 3rd Q of this year
  3. Wow that's more powerful than I expected, I also can't remember seeing any 770 4K benchmarks. As for the 300 series, I have a bad feeling that they're gonna be really expensive.
  4. Ah ok, that sounds reasonable then. Thanks for explaining that, I'm thinking this is what ill go with
  5. An Asus Strix isn't a card. My guess is that it's a 970 or 980? Can we get some confirmation here please. Also you can use multiple monitors with 1 card
  6. Woah dude, More VRAM != Better performance The 970 DOES have 4 GB of RAM, but the last 500 MB is just much slower than the first 3.5 As for how much VRAM you need, it depends on what you're playing. 2GB Will play pretty much any 1080 game on whatever setting, 4GB will for sure support any 1080 game on any settings, 1440p it will do most games and same as 4K, however at 4K with high settings is where the 970's 4GB of RAM is a problem. But who here really games at 4K?
  7. Ok well with the 970 and 1231 V3. I know nothing about Xenon processors but im guessing they're not overclockable? 8. Because the 280 is $401 and 280x is 440 (Again in NZD) But I can get a 960 for $330 - On a side note, this is cost price of one but it's the only card im able to get at cost through a friend.
  9. Again with the 970, It's almost double the cost in my land for not double the performance, however I'd look at upgrading it later down the track. That Xenon 123v3 is interesting though, Are there any other downsides apart from the slower clock
  10. i7 for video editting. 960 becasue im too poor to get a 970. In NZ I can get a 960 for $320 but the 970 costs $590
  11. Hey guys, so I currently own a Lenovo Y510P laptop but looking to sell and build a desktop instead, I live in New Zealand so with the current exchange rate this build converts to about $1500 (Link: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/ZQBLK8, The case in excluded since no one here has it so just add $80). Anyways, my idea is so make the RAM upgradeable if needed in the future and to be able to do some overclocking. Any opinions would be great, thanks guys. 12. That all looks fine, but in all honestly the CPU + CPU cooler and Mobo really is overkill really, if you're only doing gaming + live streaming. The streaming will put a bit of stress on it if you're using an intensive compression but an i7 4790K would handle it just as well. Same as the DDR4, it's not gonna yield any better results with anything you're doing, unless you all of a sudden decide to run some really CPU intensive programmes
