  1. To make a long story short after a clean windows 11 install no drivers installed, not even network drivers, the PC will work and let me into windows, but whenever I try to install the Nvidia drivers for a 3080ti half way into the install process the pc goes to a black screen the restarts and will stay stuck at the Asus load screen just before launching windows, sometimes it tries to auto repair but it normally blue screens and will NOT let me into windows unless I do a clean install of windows again.. I'm thinking something happened to my GPU, when I swap out the 3080it for my old 980ti it works fine and lets me install the drivers as normal How do I confirm the GPU died? When I open GPUZ there is no indication of what GPU in install it defaults to the Microsoft drivers and shows no Vram and cant tell what the buswith is.. but with the 980ti it can read this.. I've tried flashing the GPU Bios but same results more to the story if you're interested: I upgraded my motherboard and CPU to an AMD 7900x and Asus x670E-E from an AMD 1800 MB: Asus X370,, I already had the 3080ti for year and some change I just upgraded the Mother board and CPU,, at this time I formatted my Nvme Drives to start over fresh (this is my gaming rig so nothing really important on this PC) the upgrades works perfectly no issues for about 3 weeks,, then I moved the PC from one house to another (I think this move Killed the GPU) once I had the PC set up at the new house it NEVER NEVER posted it gave me a Qcode of 42. This was super frustrating because there is no clear troubleshooting for Qcode 42.. I ended up RMAing the motherboard but same code 42 I bought a new CPU same CPU just new AMD 7900X (I bought this one because I was outside RMA timeframe at this point) same issue,, Frustrated I Bought a taichi Motherboard same damn code 42... at this point I have 2 AMD 7900x and 2 motherboard I ended up selling the taichi motherboard. I'm still trying to sell one of the 7900x. During this time I bought an Intel 13900K and Asus Z790 me thinking it was an AMD problem (As an AMD fanboy this kinda hurt) the Intel is indeed more stable but now whenever I try to install the GPU drivers it gets to about 35% when the screen first flickers as a normal GPU Driver install does it stay black then fully resets the PC then during the Post/startup it either freezes and doesn't allow me into windows or (and this is rare) it does an auto repair then has me reset back to before the drivers are installed if its not corrupt.. I never thought to check the GPU because it had worked flawlessly up until it didn't lol.. I also thought code 42 was from unstable RAM or memory so I was chasing that.. I forgot to mention I bout 2 other sets of RAM to test that thinking it was a RAM timing issue.. Thanks for reading, any Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated..
  2. Did you ever get this solved? I'm having the same issue I've been dealing with this for 3 months now I'm stuck on code 42 same motherboard I even went so far to RMA the motherboard but same issue I bought a new CPU same issue I bought a new motherboard a taichi b650E was able to update the bios it let me into windows but crashed I ended up doing a clean install of windows and it would crash and not let me back into windows I got an extra set of ram, same issue This has truly been a nightmare. I think if I cant get this solved Im selling both motherboards and both CPUS and starting over with an intel build (kills me since I really love AMD but this is bullshit) To add frustration this PC worked fine for the first week then I moved it from one house to another and it never started after the move. One time I was in windows just after a fresh install and the keyboard would lock up sticking a key as if I was holding it down but I wasnt it creashed shortly after and I can not get back into window after that,,, also a few times doing the fresh windows install it would crash mid windows install and I would have to start the windows install all over again please help
  3. This is what I'm looking for, I want almost the highest performance card for a long time lol like a year. Now to wait until they ship, I just do't want to get hosed if they release an even higher performance card soon, Titans always beat these cards I'm ok not having a titan I want the one just below the titan soooo 3090 it is I'm excited!!
  4. I really want to upgrade to the 3090 ASAP but I'm afraid I'll buy it then in December or sometime soon-ish NVIDIA will release a 3090TI or 3095 and Ill regret getting the 3090, I don't want the full Titan I want the one just below it and in most cases its the TI version of that generation of card.... Thoughts? I have a 980TI now

    Samsung G7 Issues

This is what I was starting to think the issue was... dang I really need the 3080ti to drop lol
  6. Alright it might not be the monitor but I cant get this monitor set up correctly its stuck at 144Hz I cant go any higher in the control panel also in Nvidia control panel there isn't a gsync option for me so I cant enable Gsync? I have turned off adaptive sync in the monitor menu and the monitor says its doing 240hz but its still not an option on the control panels and I can not get the Gsync options to show up in the Nvidia control panel, also there isnt an ultra low latency option available for me its in the monitor menu but I cant figure out how to enable it. I'm on a 980ti (waiting for 3080ti to drop) and yes I'm using DP 1.4 with the USB hooked up (I don't think the USB is necessary) I feel like this is a rookie thing I'm over looking or missing but I spent all last night just frustrated I couldn't confirm Gsync was on and I was stuck on 144hz the G7 just came in yesterday... any help or suggestion I would greatly appreciate it
  7. Alright new game plan I'm just updating the graphics card once they drop and waiting for Zen 3 if I think I need/want it Honestly Thank you for the responses!
  8. ahh see this is why I posted this I didn't know Zen 3 was around the corner!! I appreciate this! Also I wasn't aware of this I just wanted one badass AMD chip I've been an AMD fanboy since I was a kid making my first PC, this stuff comes out so fast its kinda hard to stay in the loop with these things... I appreciate the Intel suggestions but I'm going to be suborn and stay with AMD I'm ok with spending too much money on my rig I just don't want to spend stupid money if that makes sense?
  9. Budget (including currency): 2,000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Battlefield and sightseeing games kinda competitive I think its upgrade time I really want the new 3080TI or 3090 or whatever will be the one step down from the Titan will be Currently CPU: AMD 1800X GPU: 980TI Motherboard: ASRock X370 Ram: Gskill DDR4 3200 Storage: 2 Samsung Evo 1TB each and a 12TB HDD I need to upgrade the Motherboard because the X370 only goes up to PCIE 3.0 and a 3080Ti will want 4.0 so here is what I'm thinking of upgrading too New CPU: Ryzen 3900XT New motherboard: GIGABYTE B550 Aorus Master Ram: HyperX 2X16GB DDR4 3200 ( I Might not upgrade the Ram ) Obviously GPU: 3080TI Also I'm thinking I should get the New New Samsung G7 I currently have an Asus 4k gaming monitor its alright it looses signal every now and then its annoying.. Normally I wouldn't even ask for opinions on what to upgrade too but since I have time before the new graphics cards come out I was curious what you guys would do to get ready for the RTX3080TI??

    Optoma UHD60!!!

It came in yesterday, Its sooo refreshing to see 125'' in 4K.... Gaming Isn't bad for what Im used to in terms of input lag, I would consider it playable. Battlefield 4 is running 70FPS and Battlefield 1 is in the 50s maybe 40s on my 980ti, max setting in 4K... I shall wait until Volta before I start shopping again... Please note: HDMI port 2 is the only port that can handle 4K 60HZ I had it plugged into HDMI port 1 on the projector and only got 30Hz in 4K I even went to Walmart to buy an new HDMI cable I felt pretty dumb after figuring out it just needed plugged int HDMI 2 Get this projector if you in the market, Seriously 4k at these sizes just makes sense its beautiful!!!
  11. Anyone wanna have fun, There is this guy who will call me once and a while with a scam I'm not sure how often it works for him but once is too much. He has called before claiming he is with Microsoft and that I have a bug on my PC and all I need to do is pay him and virus will go away. its normally an automated message and if you continue on or if you call back it goes directly to a live person. I don't know if its an operation or just a single guy or what but ill call him out on his bullshit and he normally hangs up on me. The most recent one happened today 7/3/17 He claimed he was with the IRS and that I had back taxes owed and that the IRS was going to sue me, it gave a call back number and option to continue. Lots and lots of red flags, when I wasn't as busy I called back and I swear its the same Microsoft guy I asked for verification he said he didn't need to provide any and that I could just hang up if I wasn't ok with that, then he hung up on me!!! I proceeded to just call back as many times as I could he finally blocked me and I'm going to keep calling from my office phones to just fuck with him.. If you are having a bad day or you just need to let some steam out I high recommend calling this guy and just call him a piece of shit and hang up because that's what he is, just scum.... My work phones record the calls if you'd like Ill try to post recordings if I can get threw..

  13. Ok, I have no idea why this is happening but I will build PCs for my small business. Ive build about 20 PCs over the past few years and recently I have been experiencing something very different and new. I did a clean install of windows 10 Pro and I entered the activation key at the time of install, everything will be fine for about 3 weeks then the pc will update or something and I'll have a Activate Windows water mark on the bottom right hand side. When I go to re-enter the key it gives me an error and it tells me I am on windows Home edition and I need a Home key?!?!? WTF I NEVER INSTALLED HOME! How do I fix this, I called Microsoft horrible Idea they told me to do another clean install, I'm like that's not fixing the problem, it will just revert to home edition causing this issue again...
  14. Ok its not a review but I think this would be a good product for a review, it seems to be the first sub 5,000 USD price that can offer a compelling 4k experience HOWEVER its not a native 4k chip instead it uses some 1080P trickery to make a 4k experience. So my question, would one, get this or continue to wait until true 4k blow 5,000 dollars USD thoughts?
