Hi, I was just wondering, is game development for previous gen console's a thing?, I know it is for the Dreamcast, but I was wondering about other consoles, it's something I'd like to get into, any advice would be most appreciated, anything from the Wii downwards, thanks!

Imagine if you will you've just coded your own store to sell one off merch, you need to prevent multiple sales, so in the database you make a column with a limit quantity of 1, after checkout the availablity changes to 0, but 2 people were completing the purchase at the same time so in fact the availablity becomes -1, so you have the manually cancel a transaction. Is there a way to prevent multiple sales going through at the same time? thank you

Please can someone explain to me how an xbox 360 or ps3 game can play from a disc yet the xbox one / ps4 requires the disc to be installed before play, thanks

In my opinion, I think the future of "console gaming" is retro, or at least the style of it, take the NES Classic, it was released in November last year, it's March now and it's still out of stock everywhere (at the proper RRP), of course I think this is Nintendo's fault in that they are deliberately not releasing enough just to increase the demand, I was just wondering what other LTT gamer's think about this, is the future more retro?

I was watching some video's on YouTube and one was recommended to me by YouTube so I clicked on it, it's something called the USB Killer which I've not heard of before, after watching the video if I was Microsoft. Sony or Nintendo I'd be worried, all you'd need is a group of insane people buying consoles, using the usb killer, returning the console for a replacement and repeat the process and basically turning it into a game of who can kill the most consoles, and if I understand this correctly there would be no way a retailer could refuse a replacement as there is no trace of using the device, this could end up being very expensive for companies, yikes.

I alwats thought Linux was the most secure OS available but after reading https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/mar/08/wikileaks-vault-7-cia-documents-hacked-what-you-need-to-know I'm getting the impression it isn't as fort knocks as it's made out to be?

I was just wondering is it possible to build a near 1:1 spec wise using PC hardware of a PS4?

In today's market could a new console from a different company survive?

I've not used an anti-virus program in years, mainly because I don't go onto suspicious website or download suspicious files, am I being stupid?, I've never had any trouble, is an anti-virus program needed these days, if so what is recommended?
