  1. I'd like to win the Blade so I can run that sweet sweet BFone :D. I game a lot and would love to have something light and portable for school as well
  2. i'm really not sure at all haha, I mostly assumed it wasn't. I tried to look it up but found nothing. Thanks for the advices, I'll definitely put in the extra money now I checked the option on the microsoft store and they have a much smaller choice of configs and they don't have the one I'm looking for but thanks for the heads up! I don't need graphical performances that much since I don't do a lot of 3D. I'm in operations/logistics engineering so computing power to run large optimisation models is my main concern. The GPU is more for gaming than anything else with my use
  3. Hiya, I'm looking to replace my current garbage laptop with something powerful, light, portable and with a proper battery life. I plan to use it for school (engineering) and for light gaming. I was initially hesitant between the lenovo T450S and the XPS15 but figured that I'd be better off with a dedicated GPU for gaming. Now that I've settled on the XPS15, the question is which configuration to get.. I absolutely want SSD only storage and couldn't care less about 4K/touch fluff. The 1,899.99 & 2,299.99 (CAD) models are exactly the same except for : 8GB vs 16GB of DDR4 Ram 256GB vs 512GB PCIe SSD 56WHr 3-cell vs 84WHr 6-cell Battery (non-changeable) Do you guys think the upgrades are worth the higher price ? I'm mainly afraid of not having enough mass storage with the first option since it isn't upgradable a posteriori.. Let me know what you think !
  4. The fact that you can take this pretty much anywhere and do some good ole lan parties is a killer selling point! That and the small footprint on a desk are really appealing
  5. I'd just take a plate design PDF and print it on paper and then cut out the switch openings.
  6. Is the casing aluminum ? Any flex in it ?
  7. https://www.marshallheadphones.com/mh_se_en/phones/london-phone It is so god awful.. And 750cad$???
  8. Would anyone know if I can run LEDs off the 5V pin on the back of my infinity PCB? I'm just afraid that by drawing too much current from that pin, I screw up my keyboard in some fashion.
  9. who manufactures them ? :0 they sure are pretty good at it
  10. If it isn't a phone, the PR team needs to be fired
  11. I'm already picturing a Mountain Dew LMG edition SGS6
  12. would make sense since they wouldn't have all the expertise required to develop their own. But then the question is: who would partner up with Marshall to bring such a device to market? Sony's out of the question and this doesn't look very samsung-y nor HTC-like. Motorola's with Lenovo which is heavily tied with JBL but maybe? Would LG make such a deal? It's all speculations but It'll be interesting to see how this turns out
  13. The design sure looks neato! Not sure if a good soundchip would be enough to sell the device (although with all the pono player crap, maybe it is). And besides, what software would they run? Can't imagine they'd hire software developers to develop their own (possibly music-oriented) ROM. It promises to be interesting but Marshall doesn't have the visibility imho to make an impactfull release in the smartphone market.
  14. Weeeell, I don't know for how long this has been up there but there's currently a countdown on the Marshall website for the launch of what appears to be a smartphone! After making a successful venture into the world of headphones/earphones, they are going after the audiophile smartphone user. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Is the market already flooded or is there a real niche market for audiophile grade smartphones ? For those not too familiar with music equipment, Marshall is a legendary amplifier brand. They were the amps of choice for rock bands through 70s, 80s and 90s and still are a reference in the market. https://www.marshallheadphones.com/mh_ca_en/phones
  15. finally done with my infinity build ! I went with a happy mix of whites and greens and I must say they are really something to type on. my first mechanical keyboard had browns and I felt like they weren't responsive enough. I'd describe the whites as more "precise" greens with the release point at the same height as the actuation point (maybe I'm talking doodoo but that's what it feels like) with less loud of a click. Here are some pictures : http://imgur.com/a/hxI8S The build went rather well except for the stabs which were too tight at first and the cutout for the usb chord which was too small. Nothing a good ole' swiss knife can't fix though
