  1. I think that's probably the best option but as I'm selling the old rig I don't think I could wait for the new Cards, especially with how much Nvidia pricing has climbed recently.
  2. In case it's unclear from the post, the part list is what I've already decided on minus going for a 3600 and a smaller m.2.
  3. I'm in the UK and 400 to 500 pounds is my budget. My question/s is should I go for something like a 5700xt or downgrade the processor and maybe the M.2 and go for a 2070 super? I do programming on my computer a lot but the compile times don't really bother me much on an I7 6700K that I'm using now. I have a small 120 gb old Samsung 840 Evo and a 2TB Seagate Barracuda SSHD. I usually stick to 1080P 144 HZ. My old computer is getting upgraded and I have the money saved to upgrade. P. S I have heard the case doesn't come with fans. Is this true? Will I need to buy some?
  4. I had considered it but doing stuff with the router seemed to fix nothing I really went for a ghetto WiFi setup when I couldn't afford anything better but it cuts out constantly and it's speeds reduce to unusable alot too i am also able to use my laptop in my room and it works nigh perfectly so I figured it was not my router I bought a decent ish WiFi card to use and It seems to be even worse now which is very fucked and idk what I can do other than ride it out as I can't change anything about network /router or anything till next year
  5. Hey, I'm looking for a decent WiFi card that will let me use most if not all of my 200 Mb/s Internet I'm on virgin in the UK atm but for some reason the WiFi barely stretched to my room of my one floor tiny cramped student house for a reason me nor my flatmates have been able to discover I'm using a WiFi booster ghetto setup atm and get about 24 Mb/s currently and its awful if I lie in my bed the range barely extends to my phone it's literally about ten foot and a small hallway into my room I don't know what is wrong with my house either as I barely get any mobile network reception either can someone recommend me a good WiFi card that will pickup the signal well I've tried a terrible USB one and other things but I want a dedicated pcie one price range is about £50 if people could shoot a few at me id appreciate it
  6. Hello, A day ago I attempted to turn my computer on and it wouldn't post all fans and things were working perfectly fine, all LEDS were lit up. My computer would not post in anyway. Specs are a GTX 760 Asus direct cu II I7 6700k Asus z170 Pro Gaming Corsair rm850i 2400mhz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 2X8GB sticks too make things easy I have already tried reseating my ram, All my psu cables, tried on board graphics before I realised it wasn't posting at all as I originally thought it may be the GPU, Tried removing CPU and replacing it (I don't Know why as the fans and such were turning on without a fan controller So I presume it's working fine. I tried removing the battery cell from my motherboard and putting it back in reset the Cmos and other things like that. When I removed the battery cell for the first time the computer started working again and then I tried it a day later when I was away for a Friday night I tried to turn it on this morning and it was the same issue. I presume the motherboard is Basically broken beyond repair although I don't know for certain as I've never encountered this before and the computer will actually turn on just no post. Thanks
  7. I am not going for a 980 and too many games are releasing where the r9 390 isnt performing too great on honestly
  8. I am curious about what I should do basically my current system is below. A GTX 760 16gb Ram FX 8350 sabretooth r2.0 I am upgrading my gpu processor and mobo in january good time for sales. I am basically either considering either a gtx 970 /4790k or a gtx 980 /4690k my budget doesnt support a 4790k/980 really its a big price bump in England I may be able to fit it into my budget but would I be better off with a 4790k/970 or a 980/4690k. This build is solely for gaming and programming on visual studio for C++ so I figured a 4690k would be enough I am not a fan of sli so going with the 970 now and upgrading to another one in a few months isn't really an option for me to be honest Would you suggest the i5/980 or i7/970 this is solely for gaming
  9. Sorry I had an unfortunate family emergency which meant I had to quickly type it and leave I am intending to buy a new psu the thing about a 970 vs a 390 is that a 390 is slightly cheaper/better performance but the problem is that you get like 100 pounds/170 dollars worth of games. and with a 390 you get civ beyond earth (civilisation)
  10. Excellent thankyou for the recommendation
  11. I'm going to point out I will be upgrading to some form of intel processor at some point not sure which likely a i7 or a 6600k probably not long from now to be honest
  12. my case aint that great for having multiple radiators it would be better for the overall components with the current amount of fans I have and putting in a radiator doesn't make sense the h100i is a beauty for watercooling however my friend this opinion is completely unbiased what you have said I am fine with what I have and I have not seen any visible benchmarks with the processor I have on a similar if not exact same rig my friends/colleagues have therefore I believe personally that a 390 would be a good sweet spot and a 390x has a 100 dollar premium for absolutely no fucking benefits I have literally seen 2/3 benchmarks where a certain game (dont remember which) gets like 1 extra fps
  13. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-011-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2466 ^would you recommend this one it is semi modular which is nice and easy and it is gold rated I am not to familiar with super flower but it has good reviews and is about 15 pounds (23.17) dollars cheaper then the evga gold g2
  14. Thanks for the recommendations I will have a look on overclockers/amazon they are basically the only places to buy stuff in england online that are definitely not going to rob you
  15. I'm not throwing it in your face I am simply telling you that I have evidence to the contrary especially considering most dx 11 games can utilize the multi core perfectly and I don't play really old games that often as I spend most of my time with my university work which is done making vidya games and only rarely get to play triple a titles and they perform perfectly on my cpu. As well as all the other people I know who have a similar cpu and either a 970/980/290x/390 who all get vast improvements on frame rates over me so quite frankly I simply do not believe what you are saying and to me it sounds like you are personally trying to make me waste money telling me to get an i5/i7 when i do not have any need for it.
