  1. Hello, can you tell me how to get to that stage? when i open that host file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc its completely Blank. i've taken write protection off and ran my notepad as administrator and still empty
  2. EDIT: If anyone else has a problem like this and needs help, I would read this thread: AND look on this website and follow every step https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/yeabests-cc-a-fileless-infection-using-wmi-to-hijack-your-browser/ For me however, the only thing that can be done now, is a full re-Installation of my OS. the people who made this virus or whoever infected my laptop, must have been aware of the ways that it was removed, so I think that they've worked around our solution to it. So I've decided to just reinstall my windows. Thanks for the help. If anyone needs help, just message me. its probably the best thing you can find on the internet about this issue. Hello, I'd like help removing this virus which is starting to annoy the shit outta me now..... This is what my anti virus tells me when i try and scan my PC for viruses, whether its a full scan or quick scan these are the "Sponsor links" that are on google that show up, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out those aren't official links This is the thing that redirects me no matter where and what i click every 5 minutes My scan after I ran AdwCleaner This is sometimes what happens when i click, it opens a new tab that cant be closed unless i Alt+F4 this virus makes everything i click, even plain text into a hyperlink, redirects my searches to Bing or Yahoo, opens new tabs randomly and nothing can detect what it was I've ran my anti virus hundreds of times, I've ran malware scanner, I've used MalwareBytes to scan, it detected some stuff and deleted them ( they were all in my registry files) I've done everything I could have done, apart from uninstalling my windows but I just can't do that, as I've only got one Drive on this laptop and it has all of my work from university on it. Has anyone else had this issue? how did you fix it? what else can I do to try and get rid of it? I should mention this happens on all of my browsers, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer... I've tried everything. Teach me your ways, together we can stand up to this virus and be free.... any suggestions will be appreciated
  3. I'd like to know which sub thread i should use if i have a question about viruses, and help with malware removal
  4. thanks for the Video and your comment. im glad you dont follow everyone elses opinion and have your own. thanks!
  5. right, i think one of these is my winner, just a few little questions. i know theyre custom built. what are the upgradeability like? if i want to add more ram in the future and shit? how do they perform and deal with heat. And finally which has been on my mind all week. why does everyone hate alienware. i just want to know where the hate comes from. i know theyre flashy and shit, i know their pcs are overpriced. but for what i saw, the alienware 15 R2 with an i7 quad core, 970M, 1tb hdd, and 250gb SSD with my discount came up to £1060. i've read reviews that give them credit for their heat disapation, and their performance and theyre screens. not so sure about their keybaords. so i just want your honest detailed opinion about them. i understand the whole they might break aafter a year, because all i see is refurbished alienwares but still want to know your opinion
  6. The 14" Defiance II is what i was looking at from PCSPECIALIST
  7. https://gyazo.com/20646759b967ecfef56d148062c11c0c this is the model im talking about. i cant find any information about when its getting released or if its a mistake. im quite happy with the P406 though, it seems nice, i've customized it and its £1100 now. i just cant figure out how much it weighs
  8. you mean the other XMG model? its just as expensive , i've dialed it down to £1150, it does seem appealing. do you know if they do any student discount also do you know who makes their keyboards?
  9. when i customize the one you suggested with a 970m and a 256gb ssd it comes up to £1260. which i find a bit out of my budget.
  10. its a bit pricey i think was looking for something around the £1000 mark, £1100 max
  11. the reason i liked the XMG c406 is because its soooooo light and powerful at the same time. i mean 1.7kg is nothing, not even a bag of potatoes the one MR excercutor5 said is nice, it weighs a bit more though. but i like these suggestions. any others guys?
  12. I quite like the xmg c406 model but it says it's coming soon do you have any idea when it will be released. I can't find anything online
