  5. greetings and salutations i've been thinking of an Graphics card upgrade, from my current 2x evga gtx 980 sc acx 2.0 to a single 1080TI (probably a evga icx or hybrid) i play games like DOOM (2016) and mass effect andromeda at 4k and i dont know if the 4GB vram is gonna be enough for new titels in 4k i'm also thinking, if i do get a 1080TI, maybe using one of my 980s as a dedicated physX card so... is it worth it at this time? than again the AMD vega is on the way, maybe i should wait to see what it has to offer... thoughts? comments? questions? // KwisteW

  18. so i know i might be beating a dead horse by now, but..... number of PCI-E lanes supported, i know my current cpu has 40 PCI-E 2.0 lanes the 4790k has 16 PCI-E 3.0 lanes and 5930k has 40 PCI-E 3.0 lanes and PCI-E 2.0 vs 3.0 for that matter? is pci-e 2.0 even at 16x/16x enough for gtx 980sli i've heard that nvidia card wont run in less then 8x, if so the 4790k is no longer an option considering im also planing a tv-card and maybe a pci-e ssd sometime in the future so long story short... is high-end sli and a tv-card an option on my current rig? thanks
  19. this! i´ve been thinking / reading, and its seems smarter to wait with the full upgrade for now, i´ll be buying the new monitor and maybe a single GTX 980, unless my current 680 can keep up with the games i play in 4k thanks to all for your input
