I hate are brands that are against overclocking for the masses, what i hate even more are the people who buy brand new unlocked CPUs and expensive motherboards, increase the clock multiplier a little and apply a little voltage to then think they know enough to say something can't be done.

  1. Ok, so i solved one problem, i disabled secure boot and went from UEFI to legacy. Now it will boot on my other hdd, but the new one still has no OS.
  2. Just used my other HDD on it, and it still says no media present...
  3. But did it just die as soon as i reset windows?
  4. Ps. If i go out of the bios, it says ">>checking media presence..." for a few seconds before returning to the bios screen.
  5. Hi, My brother got a used laptop from a friend as a gift, but he forgot the password, so we decided instead of going though the bother of asking the password again, we would just reset windows 10 and start anew. So i went to wipe the old data (holding shift and pressing the reset button on the bottom right corner, troubleshooting, wipe data). It took a few hours, but the laptop got there in the end. BUT, as soon as it rebooted it just said there was no OS detected. So, i went to the bios to check if there was anything abnormal, everything seemed fine, but i reset it to default. Just to be safe. Now it will just straight up go to the bios, no questions asked. Did i just completely wipe the hard drive? Because i thought i was just factory reseting Windows... Or is this just an error? Help is needed. Thanks in advance.
  6. So i have a GA-78LMT-USB3 and it gives me plenty of headaches. The bios is terrible and i had to change my memory just because it hated its multiplier. Is the Asus M5A97 R2.0 a good board? I came across a used one and i want to be sure to avoid further frustrations. I Got a Phenom II 1055T that goes up to 4.1Ghz at about 1.365~1.405v (still tweaking) and 2x2Gb sticks of HyperX 1.65V memory wich the Gigabyte board doesnt support
  7. I built a pc a few weeks ago and it worked fine, only had too little ram. So i sold the old sticks and got some new ones. The thing is i didn't realise they were 1.65V rated, opposed to the old ones 1.5V. Now my pc will keep giving long beeps until i turn it off. Could this be the cause of my problem?
  8. What i get is 2 very long beeps and a half long beep. *Repeat*
  9. Specs in my profile. Phenom ii X6 1055T GA-78LMT-USB3 2x2GB 1600MHz 1.65v HyperX
  10. I just upgraded from my previous platform, but i did it slowly. I bought Ram, MoBo, CPU and tested them togheter, they worked fine. But the performance was unbearable with 2GBs of ram so i just used my old system until i could get my hands on some more. I got some more, now that i assembled everything, my PC won't boot. I checked the 8-Pin CPU cable, 24-Pin Motherboard cable, 6-Pin GPU cable. All seated properly. Checked ram in all combinations, including no ram. Nothing. Checked without discrete GPU. Nothing. Removed all connectors but the necessary. Nothing. Reset CMOS. Nothing. Reseated CPU. Nothing. What i get is 2 very long beeps and a half long beep. Mouse, Keyboard, USB powered Monitor all light up. The fans turn on. (GPU, CPU and System) Did my system just die while it was off? BTW i changed my memory because Gigabyte really hates the lowest memory multiplier. Got some HyperX 1.65v now.
  11. Hey, so i sold my old system and got a couple bucks to make an upgrade. I got across a very good deal on a "defective" (pretty infamous) reference GTX 480 but i dont know if my psu can handle all that Fermi power. Phenom II X6 at 1.34V 2x2GB 1600MHz Ram 450W PSU If it can handle the power consumption that would be a pretty significant upgrade for me. Can yall give me some light, i came across reviews that point out its just enough at peak. Thanks.
