AMD's Wraith Max cooler now available as a separate cooler for $59
Icywolfe replied to captain cactus's topic in Tech News
AMD has to keep their partners. I'm sure they could price the wraith coolers at like 20 bucks or even 10 bucks, but one major partner they have is Cooler Master which they use for their Vega and Fury watercooled cards. And CM sells a cooler at about 20 USD and it performs similar. Also I think the original wraith was designed by CM also (the fan) -
AMD could make a 24 core with 64 PCIE lanes (Unlike Eypc's 128) with quad channel memory. This will murder workstations based on the intel 22 core xeon chips and murder the 18 core intel HEDT chip. It could be a [3+3] + [3+3] + [3+3] + [3+3] price this at 1999$.At maybe like a 3.1 ghz.

They have to price it high or the oem cooler manufacturers will be very unhappy. -
I just Alt tab out of games and never close them. I have Firefox and Google Chrome filled with tabs, I say that method is normal. I have 16 threads and 32GB of ram that I gotta make use of. So why not? My laptop also has 32gb of ram just for chrome to eat up.

Pictures of what just fans? My case is on the slowest ground shipping atm as my next day shipping got me a cracked side panel. Well I don't want the hot air in my case.

So I have 2x NF14 and 1x NF12 as exhaust. But I do want to keep the case in a state of positive pressure how might I go around it? The NF14 is mounted to a H110i as push. The NF12 is mounted to a EVGA 120 CLC as push. (Yeah I know I'm supposed to do a custom loop, but I was curious if it was possible.) So I have space for 3x front case fans as intake. (In a Evolv TG ATX) Would I need to run the 2000 rpm fans from Noctua? Or what else? (I don't want a jet engine pc though) That said I'm actually missing the case atm as UPS delivery cracked the glass >.> so waiting on my RMA.

I can't find much documentation for the 8 port versions as most of their docs refer to the 16 port version. They said the 16 port version is upto 2000mbps, but I'm not sure if the 8 or 4 port versions has that or it's only the 16 port version.

Zyxel PLA4201 500Mbps Powerline. is it worth it?
Icywolfe replied to pepsimaxl's topic in Networking
Remember the powerline stuff is based on how good is the wiring also that 500mbps you will never see it in a home network as there are some extra data needed to be transfered which sort of makes it slower. Also it is based on the slowest/weakest link in the network. But overall it should be fine for you. But I personally prefer Ethernet cables as I generally move large files through the network and dedicated cables gave me a peace of mind. You need to make sure the powerlines in the wall are part of same "group." (My brain threw a blank there.) -
How do I deal with the tech support from the ISP?
Icywolfe replied to Icywolfe's topic in Networking
ATT is worse. ----------------- I did a simple check of if my switches actually redirects the stuff correctly. (I doubted that would even be a problem.) And this DTR to Router to Switch to NAS is 190-210 megabits/s and the other way around is 480 to 520 megabits/s. I guess it means it works. But oddly the Asus router seems to be a tiny bit faster. (I used to use a Asus Router then switched to the nighthawk as the Asus had issues with multiple wifi devices.) -

I use realtek, but I just checked everything is upto date. The only thing that isn't uptodate is my games which will take 5 days to download the patch..... >.> I did all the Win Dns stuff and checked with my router what's it's own speed. I think I did everything on my end. (The problem was for about 2 weeks so I had plenty of time of dial up like internet.) Actually thanks. I forgotten about that. -
How do I deal with the tech support from the ISP?

My internet d/ced as I tried to post..... lulz Well my ISP is TWC. It was very hard to talk to the person as sometimes I had no idea what that person was talking about like the RJ45 port part. The person said for me to replug that on another port on my computer. Huh? -

Level 1 (which is basic) Knew more than Level 2. ATT is the only other ISP and they are the people that said 0.10 megabits persecond is perfectly fine for online gaming. -
I just called then I said my issue. The first guy was great but I gotten pushed up to level 2. And I think level 2 was worse than level 1. So far they said or implied: Intel i7 is a very slow processor that you need a third party NIC or upgrade to a Pentium Processor. A Hard drive is faster than a SSD. A laptop normally had 4 rj45 Jacks so if your one having only one rj45 means it's a old laptop. I didn't follow their instructions to reboot the computer as no computer can reboot in 7 seconds. A gigabit router is slower than a 10 megabit router that is why your Netgear nighthawk x6 is a bad router and cheap. You need to get the cat4 cable as cat4 cables are the fastest for home use. (I said I have cat7 and cat6a cables.) They said it in a way that more close the number is to "1" faster the internet would be. How is level 2 worse than level 1?! I was loosing brain cells by talking to tech support. It's almost like they are trying to blame my computer for all the problems but they are grasping air because they can't find a real issue about it. But I had a major issue when they said reboot and I had to actually reboot my computer multiple times as they didn't believe a computer can reboot that fast. It's more of argument support over the phone of the other side saying I didn't follow instructions of rebooting or I didn't read their system requirements.

I did that for long while. Often that meant my computer is on 24/7 and near max load for that time. During the day I'm gaming and then overnight it's exporting the file and during the morning it's uploading the file to the clan server. (Stuff like thing happens when your gaming clan mates or friends has no idea how to even join file... I do get semi paid.) Many of the posts on the Vegas forum also recommend the radeon 7970s but those are pretty old posts. Seems like nobody recommends Nvidia cards though. R9 280 = 7970s? If so I might go for that, as that is about 100 USD cheaper than v5900. and about 400 USD cheaper than the w7000.

It's the thing of normally I would throw away stock heat sinks once I opened up the package. Firepro wise I only saw the v5900(Even though there is alot of crashes due to that card.) being the greatest card for Sony Vegas for the price, while the w7000 is the most stable. I might go with the xeon. Just the GPU is bugging me. Consumer gpu or workstation gpu.
