  1. U could always try unparking your CPU cores....might give u an FPS boost. https://youtu.be/Muj_BDJaWf8
  2. I've tried using the last 10 driver versions from Nvidia and still getting the same result. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with PCI-E 3.0 maybe, as I've heard that some Z77 boards had issues with that.
  3. Extract the Zip file and stick the .CAP file BIOS update on a USB flashdrive and use the ASUS EZ Flash 2 Utility from within the BIOS.
  4. I made an edit to answer those dude! I dd contact ASUS but they were as much help as a fart in a spacesuit!
  5. I had a similar problem with an AMD APU build a while ago and a simple BIOS update fixed it.....u could try that!
  6. Hey, just got an ASUS P8Z77 WS board last week to replace my temporary H61 board and I've been having problems with the GPU driver. My basic specs are as follows: ASUS P8Z77 WS i5 3570K (no OC right now) Corsair H90 AIO Cooler EVGA GTX 770 Classified 8GB Kingston HyperX 1866MHz Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720W 2 monitors......1 on DVI and 1 on DP Nvidia driver version 372.90 Everything runs fine, until there's a random crash and it locks up my screens or just renders random crap on my screen. Generally happens when I've been running a game for a while. After a restart it doesn't recognise my graphics driver anymore and I have to uninstall the Nvidia driver in safe mode using DDU, then reinstall the driver again. The crashes sometime happen after 5 mins in a game, sometimes 2 hours....it's pretty much random like I said. All parts were working fine using the H61 board. Any help would be great, as I'm losing precious gaming time!
  7. I'm pretty sure I lied in this poll , don't know why....but if you would kindly change my 6 to a 7, I'd be....er....wait....no....leave it be! Actually, I'm very happy with my compulsive behaviour. I'll just go buy a fan controller instead, so if you could schedule a future edit to my answer, and change that 6 to a 2?! Truth is relative and subject to change!
  8. It's called poking the bear, folks! Just look at the amount of views it's had so far, and it's not even been up for 1 day yet! The PC vs Console debate is always going to be bias....just like the PC vs Mac one. Get used to it. It's called friendly banter, unless you come across the raging, obsessive fanboys. Either way, a console update was good for everyone, it's just I'm sure people were disappointed that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo spent most of their money marketing turd, and they haven't really pushed the envelope with this batch on a hardware level! I, for one, am interested in waiting to see what they do at a "cloud" level. Whether they offset some of the rendering to an Onlive-type system, meaning the consoles will be future proof. Would be good to see if they've already built in some kind of module into the source code, ready to plug in to this type of solution! Suddenly the consoles get a small update and it's like someone just turned on the LHC! By the way, watch Transcendence....it's cool!
  9. Well it looks like my mula that I set aside is going on something else! When will Facebook die?!
  10. What I'd like to know how big a leap the Maxwell willl be and should I wait until Q1 2014 for the next lineup to upgrade or do it now? Cause this mula is burning a big hole....It's like the rocks from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom!
  11. You really want to get a decent 24" 1080p IPS monitor....if you can't afford one right now, save your cash up until you can. Or check Ebay for cheaper prices, cause even the big retailers are on there these days, and I've found you can save some cash there, even if it's just the delivery cost. If you're worried about GPU temps as well, you could always try and replace the thermal compound on your GPU, meaning you can overclock it to get a bit more performance. I knocked my temps down by about 15-20 degrees just doing that, but make sure you follow a guide specific to your graphics card if you're gonna try it!
  12. Thanks for the reply quan289! I'll have to take a spare one over to a friends place to see what it can do....sure a bit of experimentation can't hurt....unless the thing blows, but I've got some good safety specs, thick plexiglass and a bottle of whiskey at the ready just in case!
  13. Was just wondering whether anyone has done any load testing or anything with Cooler Master's Silent Pro M2? I bought some 520W, 620W and 720W ones a while ago to put into systems and came across this video, where they show it can handle 850W at full load, and stable. The testing starts at about 6:30 in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2TwpOVmpe0 Don't know whether this is the case, it's be great if it was, but I'd definitely like to find out, either way!
  14. It's a good one....just got one for a server rig....really enjoyed the build!
  15. Anything that could house a submerged, quantum computer....would have to be big and completely custom made, with all the bells and whistles, meaning paintjob, crazy sci-fi looking....errr....and lights, lights everywhere! Quantum lights!! But, if we were talking current cases, then I'm a fan of the blank slate, that is the 900D. I hate to say it this by the way, but I also like the design, note I said design, "inside" of the up and coming Mac Pro....please don't hurt me for that! ;) Just to make up for my previous comment though, above, I should say that the outside makes it look like a dustbin! (Or trashcan....for the Americans!)
