well i want the card for just 2 years or 1.5 years and wanna max out everything i will be getting a 1080p monitor probably ips and overclock it to 80hz or sommething is that hthe better choice? -

so im stuck choosing to get the saphhire r9 290 tri-x and get myself a new monitor cuz i currently have a 1440x900 lcd monitor with only vga in it OR gigabyte r9 280x rev 2 and an ssd and maybe a nice mouse or keyboard gigabyte card cost $360 here and the saphhire cost $535 i will ditch the whole maxwell architecture since it looks t be around dx12 which is bleh since dx12 games are coming out late 2015 and maybe get pascall ?

this: INCONSISTENT CLOCKS. Yes the rumors are true, chart readings in MSI afterburner are all over the place. some reviews 1HOT. This is my main complaint. I've spent hours in MSI Afterburner trying to set a fan curve that will cool this thing down only to have my thoughts drowned out by noise. This card runs HOT, at stock clocks and my (6) case fans set on full blast my card idles at 45-50 degrees celsius (ambient temp is usually 68-70 fahrenheit), This card runs HOT. While benchmarking Heaven and Valley side by side I reached 80 degrees celsius after only 10 minutes or so. 2 Defective 3 just sent my Rma request in, getting a whining noise from the middle fan at certain fan speeds, 4 flickering and artifacting on the desktop and in games. There have also been subsequent blackscreens since the first one. 5 Screws on back of card that hold heat sink/fan to the card stick out far enough to where they hit fan blades on the 2nd matching card I ordered. This may have destroyed my 2nd card these reviews are scaring the crap out of me
