  1. Like I stated in my post I tried with 2, 1 and no ram sticks. Reseated the cpu and reset the bios with taking out the battery. Same thing evey time. First we put all the parts in the case and on first boot it had this problem straight away. Took all the parts out and rebooted again, same thing, but it in the box, same thing again.
  2. Yes I tried the board on the foil and bare in the box. I also tried almost all the things in that list, it's very similair to a list on tomshardware I used. I just disconnected the 8pin connector on the top of the board (the cpu one i think?) and now it does one longer startup before turning off and then turns on again and stays on. So it still doesn't turn on in one go but it doesn't cycle 6 times like with the CPU connector in. What the hell?
  3. Hey guys! I'm building a new pc with a buddy. Gigabyte B150 HD3P/6700k/hyperX16gb/CM G550M/gigabyte gtx 1070 We currently have the board in the box with static foil. The system power cycles 5 times and on the 6th time it stays on but we are unable to get a video feed from it, probably doesn't post. All lights and fans turn on though! We tried with onboard and gpu video feed. It also power cycles if we disconnect everything except the cpu (incl cpu fan ofc) and ram. It does the same with just 1 stick as with 2 or none. All essential power is connected. Is something doa? Thanks!
  4. So I just used the AMD cleaning utility again but this time I didn't reinstall any drivers. Now I'm running windows on 600x400 without drivers BUT it does run stable... that must mean it's the driver's causing the issue right?!
  5. I think I deleted all AMD related software with the AMD removal tool and I never overclocked this or my previous card though.
  6. Could it be a voltage thing? I thought maybe the second BIOS mode has a slightly higher voltage (for overlocks) that the psu can't provide so the card can't power up at all in that mode. At least, barely, the fans do spin! Could the card draw less voltage/power in safe mode causing it to work fine? It can't be enough difference between crashing and not crashing right?
  7. Hey guys, I just put a newish R9 into my pc as my old 6990 went up in smoke. When I login to windows I see my desktop for a few seconds before I get some weird glitches and the screen turns white/black/green/red, yes it's actually been all of those on different tries :S. When I boot into safe mode nothing's wrong, it's all stable. So I used the AMD driver removal thingy in safe mode and removed everything, rebooted into safe mode again, installed the newest drivers that were auto selected for my system, rebooted again... to no avail, same exact issues again. Is my windows still struggling with corrupt drivers? The fact that it works fine in safe mode means the hardware is okay right? Could it be a power or motherboard issue? I tried with a friend's GTX 760 and it worked fine also. Also there's a BIOS switch on the MSI R9, on one setting the pc won't even show the BIOS screen on bootup, actually shows nothing! On the second setting it works but gives the errors above. AW Aurora R3 / 2600k / 12gb / 250gb 850 samsung evo / AMD R9 Weird right?! I am absolutely clueless right now.
  8. Ah that is good to hear! I guess my best bet is to order in a 850W PSU and try it. Is there a standardized size for psu's or should I measure my current one and look for one that fits?
  9. This is the label on the side. Does this sound like it could be a PSU problem or do you guys think my 6990 is just done?
  10. I believe they are simply DELL branded, probably some generic chinese module they put their logo on though.
  11. Hey Guys, I have an Aurora R3 with a 6990 and have been having issues for a while now. The PC powers up but gives nothing on screen, doesn't even seem to send anything to the monitor since it normally powers on automatically. I switched out alot of components and narrowed it down to the PSU or GPU. When using my friends GTX760 everything worked fine immediately. After I took out the GTX and put my 6990 in again it didn't work, same issue as before. Then I switched to little bios "overclock" switch on the 6990 to default position and it worked, the PC powered on as it always used to and all looked fine. The very next time I tried to boot it up again, same issue as before, even in with the bios switch in default mode. I switched it one more time from 1 to 2 and back and it worked again! Although this time the screeen feed dropped out after 5 minutes and would not come on again, again nothing happened on reboot. I have not been able to get a signal since. Seeing as the hd6990 is an extremely hungry card, could it be that the PSU is just worn out and cannot supply the GPU with ebough power to properly work? (the fans spin up though, although that probably requires very little power) This would explain why the GTX760 worked fine. Because my 6990 worked twice after fiddling with the 760 in my system I was hoping that the card itself isn't fried. If it's the PSU that's done, can you guys recommend one that would fit a watercooled 2600k / HD6990 system? Thanks in advace you guys
  12. Thanks a bunch guys, I'm gonna go for it .
  13. Ohh man that had to be 1995, Good ol' command and conquer at my nephews place. I remember they tried to burn it to a CD for me and they had to turn off the dryer etc because the old school CD burning was such a sensitive process, no stomping on the floor!
  14. Yes they will, and if you buy an apartment with less garage space than the house it replaces had, they'll be put into "storage" they won't be gone.
  15. Thanks a bunch guys! I'm gonna try to find out if it has Sata 3 but even if it doesn't I'll probably still try the SSD route, especially since the PM810 is an older SSD, I doubt it will even get capped by the Sata 2. Should I have a reason to doubt if that Samsung PM810 will even be recognized by the macbook?
