  1. Didn't seem like it fit in any of the other topics, so Off Topic: I have been looking for a new Gaming/Extra comfy desk chair and have been having a really hard time figuring out what to buy. I have had very little luck finding DXRacer chairs in Canada. I see a lot of AKRacing, and Thermaltake chairs, but I have never heard about their quality. Does anyone have any information about what some good options for these types of chairs, available in Canada that are high quality and good value?
  2. I was wondering if there is any connection between v-sync and frame times. I know that v-sync tries to sync up the GPU frame buffer with the monitor, so would this make the frame time more steady? Or would it maybe make it spike with bad frames? If you have any ideas, or information, I would be glad to hear! Thank you, UberFefa.
  3. I like to have a Facebook tab open so I can chat with my friends and check in every once in a while. Unfortunately, it would seem that Facebook is taking up a lot of power, and even with my 3770k, it is slowing it down. When I look at task manager, I see that Chrome is often using 12-20% CPU, when I look at the Chrome task manager, I see that the culprit is Facebook and that is is using pretty much all the power (give or take 1-2%). I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, and if you know how to solve it.
  4. Thats pretty much normal, though I did think the 680 beat the 7970, I guess I was wrong. Also, who runs the 7970 at stock clock? It should easily be able to get to at least 1Ghz
  5. I have that board, just set it up on Sunday, and its really awesome
  6. I don't know a ton about video cables but a faulty cable might be the problem. If possible, I would replace it, maybe with a shorter one.
  7. I don't know how you could test the cable other than with another computer. You could try using the HDMI DP adapter on the monitor, and using a HDMI cable to your GPU. Or you could use VGA? DVI to VGA adapters are cheap.
  8. After further research it seems it might be be cable. I know that digital cables only work or they don't, but it would seem possible that it changes. Does your GPU not have both a DVI and HDMI port as well? If possible I would use one of those. Here is what I see as your GPU: http://ca.msi.com/product/vga/R5670-Cyclone-1G.html
  9. All right, so you have one input on your monitor coming from your PS3(HDMI ->DVI), and one coming from your GPU (DP)? Is the monitor DP? Is your GPU DP? or are you using an adapter? Either way, make sure you are not overclocking, and the in Catalyst Control Centre you have Over Drive disabled.
  10. I am also I windows 8, and have been for about 2 months (plus about two weeks of CP). I overall think its a good OS, but there are quite a few downsides. I think you will find alot of these over the next days and weeks. As for the blog, I would suggest a paragraph a day + any other things you think of. I think you might want to make a blogspot or tumblr(?) page for it though, as it would be more steam line with less interruptions compared to the forum. Then you can just link. For content I would suggest you give your opinions on the UI (a big deal among some people) as well as talk about which (if any) apps you use. I personally use the Mail, Calendar, (sometimes) and people apps, and suggest you at least give them a try. After that, after a few weeks or so, you might want to talk about bugs and issues, as there are quite a few (I find it to be quite unfinished) all the while you can just give general user experience points. I think that this is a great idea, and look forward to reading what you have to say. Don't forget to pick up a free copy of windows media centre (unless you dont want it), if you haven't already.
  11. So to be clear, your set up is: Computer to monitor with DVI PS3 to monitor with HDMI to DVI adapter. Where is the display port?
  12. I have couple of questions about Displayport and AMD graphics cards. 1. Active vs. Passive adapters with Eyefinity. What works, what doesn't. 2. Why don't we use Displayport for file transfer? It has something like 21Gbps speed.
  13. If you are going to custom water cool anyway, I suggest staying with the stock untill you can afford custom, that is what I am going to do, as I don't want to waste serious money on a good cooler just to replace it.
  14. Phone can be easily transported over fiber. Actually, its better because there is virtually no interference. I agree with Sauber, its true that they wouldn't profit, but it would be a minimal loss, and they would get a lot more subscribers in most regions.
