  1. Let me preface this by saying I know nothing about audio. I have a ATR1300 microphone with XLR to 1/4 inch. I currently have it plugged into a Pyle pro mini mixer model PDMX4L It's plugged into channel 1 and the output from the mixer is 1/4 inch cable brough down to 1/8 which is plugged into my mic in port on my onboard stock soundcard. It currenty picks up the audio in 1 ear and says there is a problem when trying to record anything. I tried recording on vocaroo and it said that the device wasnt found. I tried plugging the microphone, with adapters of course, directly into my sound card mic in port. It picked up no audio at all.
  2. Ah, I didn't know that, thanks for the info.
  3. but why would it show higher signal strength but provide lower speed? Sorry if this is a newb question.
  4. I'm not sure, I'm probably the furthest from the router as possible. The router is downstairs in the garage and I'm on the second floor. It does have to go through a lot of stuff to get to me.
  5. I'm trying to diagnose my wireless signal. It feels very incosistant and weak. I have a TP-Link WN722N wireless adapater that's plugged into a D-Link USB thingy. So that it's away from my actual PC. How can the results from Wi-Fi inspector vary so much from what windows and Tp-link say the wireless strength is at? After I moved my wireless adapter to an area that has higher signal strength according to Wi-Fi inspector the speed tanked to from Here's my speed according to Windows: TP-Link utility: And Wi-Fi Inspector:
  6. Because I use the XBOX 360 controller to emulate a lot of old consoles. I don't want to buy a USB style contoller for each console I plan on playing.
  7. I bought a 360 controller to emulate games and play on my PC, but the D-pad sucks. I'm looking for a better solution than modding my controller with a transforming D-pad, since I heard that is still awful. The only other solution I've currently found was a 360 face plate cover that, in my picture, that cost $45. Is there a better option?
  8. I currently have two LCD monitors, they are both pretty old. They both only have VGA out. I have a GTX 660 so I have to use a convertor: VGA to DVI. I'm waiting for a newer monitor to go on sale, but it may take a while. I want both monitors to run at the same time and one of the solutions is to buy a VGA splitter. Do they have any negative consequences? Would it reduce make my monitors run slower? Is it worth my while to just buy a low end card for my second monitor?
  9. Sorry, I forgot to add that. I'm running at 1280x1024 resolution. With all the graphic setting at minimum. I'm running 332.21 drivers with a clean install. My GPU usage is usually around 70%. Somtimes my CPU usage is 100% and sometimes it never goes above 70%.
  10. Yeah, I typed it out on the wrong sub forum and tried copying it over, but it didn't go quite as planned. How do I edit it? Or do I need an admin?
  11. Whenever I play BF4 I tend to only get massive frame drops. I limit my fps to 75, the refresh rate of my monitor, so it frequently goes down to ~30. This makes the game extremelly frustrating and unplayable. I have a decent rig for playing BF4: I don't believe it's an overheating issue since my temps really aren't bad It doesn't matter if the server is 64 man Operation Locker or me running around an abandon 64 man Operation Locker server. This seems to only happen in BF4. I pulled up steam and launched Sleeping Dogs with max settings and was able to achieve 99% GPU usage and decent fps. I was also able to achieve 99% usage with FurMark: FurMark: Sleeping Dogs:
  12. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post in, but I'm trying to run multiple instances of a java program which only allows two to be ran on one user account. Is there a way to block java from being able to access a specific registry key or returning a false value to java when it asks for which user is currently logged in?
