  1. My Little farm is only 2 PCs for now. The First is a HP Z800 Workstation with 2 Intel Xeon X5672 3.20GHz quad core hyperthreaded cpus, 24GB of DDR3-1333 ECC Registered memory, and a Reference GTX 970. This one is Running full bore when I'm not using it and it gets an average of 235802 ppd.

The Second is running light because its my HTPC/NAS so I don't want to overwork it while we are trying to watch movies or stream stuff. Its a Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G Motherboard with a Xeon X5450 3GHz quad core cpu, 8GB of DDR2-667 memory and a Asus Radeon HD-7790 2GB Graphics card. This one is only averaging 2680 ppd because I have it on the lowest setting because its pretty much used 24/7 for other things.

I plan om adding more eventually.

  2. I was just going to post about the HP Z800 for this purpose, but sleepy3103 beat me to it.  I'm using one of these now, though not for gaming.  It's a quite capable system for its age...   :)

edit : These are on eBay, with a single processor, for $270 + $49 shipping.  You can find them at different price points with different combos of RAM/CPU/HDD/Video.  I picked mine up a year ago, just mainboard / power supply / chassis, for $380, so now is a good time to buy.

As a side note, these make *excellent* virtualization hosts (I use ESXi 6 on mine), and are pretty darned quiet compared to most rack mount servers.   :)

Nice! Sorry man, lol. I found a couple last night for my youtube commentators that have 2 xeon quad cores, 24GB of memory and a 1TB HDD for around $450.

  3.  I did sort of the same thing but I bought a server/workstation instead of just the motherboard. HP Z800 with 2 x 2.67GHz quad core hyper threaded cpus and 12GB of ECC memory for $400. Heres a link to my setup when I bought it.

Then I put 2 x Xeon X5672 quad core 3.20GHz hyper threaded cpus that I got for cheap in it. I also added another 12GB of ECC memory and a GTX970. Total with my 240GB SSD is about $1000-1100.

Her is a link to the finished setup.

Benchmarks and gaming on the system

Le me know what you guys think about this for a budget setup to game and edit. I couldn't find anything better for the price.

  4. Hey so i recently changed to a limited plan for my internet and i need a software that keeps record of how much i download/upload so i can know when/if i will be exceeding my limit, do you guys know any program that does this?

If the ISP has a cap they should also have a data tracker on their site. I had buckeye cable a while back and had to keep an eye on it.

  5. I recently acquired a Linksys AC1900 (ea6900) router to upgrade my network to gigabit. Is there many major issues?

I was going back and forth between getting that router and getting the ASUS RT-AC68U AC1900. I decided on the ASUS based on lots of reviews and I just like ASUS. Its working phenomenally. It fast, stable, loaded with features and just plain works. Don't know about the Linksys, but I figured I'd tell you about the other option.
