  1. A friend of mine has the same issue with his 7900xt. His solution was not playing in dx12 mode for whatever game was causing the problem. Would happen just about every time, so repeatable. Hasn't had any issues since switching to dx11. I have a 7800xt and run into similar issues, but only sometimes. Not really often enough for me to switch.
  2. I've been working on getting an old laptop working again for the last few days. After the initial splash screen goes away, the screen stays black with a solid white cursor in the top left. My first thought was bad hdd/windows install. Tried reinstalling windows from flash drive but it wouldn't boot from USB either. Found an old spare drive and put that in. Booted right up. So I went and bought a new drive for replacement and it's giving the same initial issues. I decided to put the spare drive back in and that doesn't work now either. I've ruled out ram as an issue, I've removed the CD drive as a precaution, cleared the cmos, and tried different flash drives. Now I'm thinking the laptop might be on its way out. The laptop model is: Toshiba Satellite L870D.
  3. It was indeed RAM related. Just a crappy OC on my part. Thanks for all the help.
  4. I'll get on that in the morning. Not looking forward to hardware juggling. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for the help so far.
  5. The event that popped up in EV just before the game crashed mentioned it stopped responding and recovered. Also, I restarted just after than and bluescreened. I looked up the reason and it could be related to an old graphics driver? Doesn't much help. My monitor is gsync compatible. I'll try with it off.
  6. If this helps any, Bioshock Infinite just crashed and says "The Direct3D 11 device has been removed or crashed."
  7. About a week about I was bored and decided to give Windows 11 a try. Figured I had a good back up of 10 if anything went wrong, so wasn't worried. A couple days after the upgrade I started to get game crashes and blue screens quite often. Specifically, Fallout 4 would CTD after about 1-10 mins of playing. Did some troubleshooting since I had a bunch of mods, to no avail. Fast forward to yesterday and I got fed up with all the crashing and such. Unfortunatally, my backup decided it wasnt going to work and I had to do a fresh install of 10. After 10 was reinstalled, it bluescreened during an update. Restarted and the update finished normally. From that point on I couldn't get anything to work right. Figured it was a good idea to reinstall gpu drivers since I noticed the screen went black during the install and didn't come back. Loaded up Fallout 76 and within 10 mins it CTD. I tried verifying it in Steam, that came back as fine. Loaded it again with same crash. So I reinstalled the game and had the same crashing. Verified it again and 6 files failed. It started patching 20 gigs worth of files only to fail at the end saying "CORRUPT UPDATE FILES". I uninstalled it again and reinstalled it on a different drive. Seemed to be working but crashed once again. Eventually I remembered Event Viewer was a thing and gave that a look. There were several crashes logged for 76 and they seemed to point towards d3d11.dll as the problem. Decided to do an sfc to see what that found. Naturally it discovered corrupt files and i proceeded to fix them. After that was done, I loaded up 76 once again and within that same 10 minute window it crashed. Cheched EV again and 76 was in there. This time instead of the d3d11.dll, it was pointing to the 76 exe itself. So I said F it and reinstalled windows once again. This time everything went smooth. No bluescreens during install or updating. This time I gave Destiny 2 a try. Loaded it the first time and crashed as soon as I landed on the Tower. Went to EV and it had an Information about it pretaining to a memory leak. So I verified Destiny and it came up with 1 failed file. Loaded in again and was able to land on a planet. About 5 minutes later the game stops responding. It doesn't CTD, but freezes with the sound still playing. Loaded it a second time and am able to play for a little longer before it does the same thing. After that I tried Dying Light 2, which crashed after loading into my save. At this point I'm not sure if i should blame Window 11 for screwing something bad or if it's the graphics card. I loaded Heaven just to see if that would crash it, since it uses dx11 as well. That went for over 20 minutes with no issues. I don't have any overclocks on the gpu or cpu. None of this was happening prior to the Win11 install. I also noticed when i was playing Star Trek Online on 11 that it would crash within 3-5 minutes of playing, consistantly. That also happened after the 10 reinstall. I also ran a disk check on the ssd that has 76 and Destiny, and that came back fine. Not sure what else to do at this point so any help would be appreciated. I'll attach that only picture I had the brain to take. MSI Tomahawk B550 Ryzen 5800x 32gb Curtial Ballistix EVGA 2070 Super WIn10 Pro
  8. The problem was indeed bad mounting pressure/paste application. Did a repaste and made sure the cooler was nice and snug. Temps are down 10c both under load and idle.
  9. Thanks for the reply. Right. I guess what I was trying to say was the hyper 212 and the Nh-d15s were providing the same amount of cooling on the 5800x. That's what didn't seem right to me. For fans, I'm using the one fan provided with the d15s. I have 2 noctua industrial fans up front. I have those set for lower rpm most of the time cause they're so loud. Top and back are corsair maglev fans.
  10. Title pretty much sums up my issue. Last year I upgraded from an r5 2600 to an r5 3600. Was using the hyper 212 black on both of them and temps were great, even overclocked. At the beginning of this year I decided to upgrade once again, but this time to a 5800x. I figured I'd probably need better cooling so I opted for the Nh-d15s chromax. In the meantime, I was using the 212 while waiting for the nh-d15. Curious of course, I decided to do some testing. At stock, the 212 was providing the same amount of cooling on the 5800x as it did on the 3600 overclocked. I figured that made sense since more cores and such. However, once the Nh-d15s came in it was spitting out the same numbers as the 212. Even when the 5800x was overclocked. For context, the 3600 would hit about 85c while running cinebench. I understand that cinebench isn't normal load, but I wasn't expecting to have identical temperatures between the two coolers. And this is with all fans at 100% for both cpus. Temps are fine while gaming, usually around 65c. But I have to adjust fan speeds higher to keep it lower. My only thought was maybe a bad paste application? At this point its been like 7 months cause I'm lazy, but the fan noise is becoming annoying. Currently using a Phanteks P300a mesh case with 4 140mm fans. Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
  11. Looking though the other wires that were included with the case, I found one that had a USB connection on one end. Unfortunately, there isn't anywhere to plug the other end into on the hub. Upon further internet searches, I came across a post for a different TT case that used a similar hub. It looked basically identical. Looking through, and it was discovered that no PWM support was offered with that hub. There isn't any way that I can think of to even DC control them. I wouldn't be able to buy a better hub since the fans that came with the case are 6 pin and any other TT hub that I've come across has had 5 pin connectors. Seems kind of crappy that they would charge so much for a case, include ARGB fans, and create a connector that can't be used with any of their other products. *sad face*
  12. I was looking at the hub just a bit ago and was like "OH LOOK A COM PORT!". Unfortunately, the power for the hub is connected to the COM port. No other wires are coming from that connector.
  13. More specifically, a fan hub with RGB fans. A few months ago I built a computer for my sister. Naturally, she wanted all the RGBs. I've never built anything with RGB so now was as good a time as any to get started. Got everything hooked up and running except controlling the fan's RPM. The case she's using is the Thermaltake View 37 ARGB and it come with a fan hub for the included 3 fans. The manual is about as useful as herpes, no so dice there. On the hub there is a connector labeled 'fan 4' with 3 pins. I tried hooking that to the board to no avail. I've tried everything I can think of. The BIOS doesn't detect they're connected nor does the Thermaltake software. Any help would be appreciated. 14. Yes. It shows up in the recording when I play it back.
  15. Only codec available to me is AVC. I've cranked the bitrate to 100Mbps and it didn't change the results ):
  16. Hey everyone. I've recently started recording some videos using AMD ReLive. Upon review of the video, I notice that the text has a reddish, rainbow effect around it. I've only really noticed it in games like WoW and inside the CCC itself (but not quite to the same degree as the control panel). I did a little bit of research and the only thing I could find referred to using HDMI and changing the Pixel Format. I use DVI so that doesn't apply to me. I've messed around with the bit rate and that didn't seem to help any. I'm currently on 18.6.1, using a 390x at 1080p. If there is any other information you need, just let me know. Thanks in advance.
  17. Thanks for all the replies. For whatever reason the modem isn't assigning an IP address to the router. I tried the MAC cloning again and even assigned the IP myself. Still no luck. The tech will be here on Monday, though.
  18. I've tried a different router as well. One I know works. This is a brand new modem as of tonight. My original modem was doing what this one is doing. Sigh.
  19. Changing the MAC changed nothing. I am completely stumped.
  20. I think I recall seeing an option to set a MAC manually for the router. I'll gave that a peek and let you know.
  21. Upstream is 43-44. The 4th stream is the same as the 8th for down. I don't know how many times I've unplugged the modem. Comcast has done it as well. Twice on the new modem. Would any of this cause the modem to only recognize one specific computer and only that computer? That's the main issue right now. Can't use a router with my modem and no other computer except the one I'm now is recognized by the modem.

  23. I had the new one setup through the web browser. Though, when I called the last time the agent went through and made sure was working since I was getting abysmal speeds. That much has been fixed. What do you mean by 'signals'? Not sure what you're referring to.
  24. Don't see any settings that are changeable in the modem itself. Did notice that it's only connecting as IPv6. Noticed that earlier and tried to enable that in the router. But since they weren't communicating, The router wouldn't let me save the setting. This is in the Event Log of the modem. Now that I think about it, when I was looking through the log of the other modem it did mention issues with DHCP not initializing. I believe that's the wording. Also, DHCP is enabled on the router.
