Hello, unfortunately, I didn't do a backup beforehand. Is there a way to update without the app store? Today I got a notification to update but instead of "install" I pressed on notification and opened the crashed app, so I am thinking its only GUI that is crashing, but I am not aware of something like apt-get update && upgrade on ubuntu.

Hello, so I install new MacOS Mojave on my MacBook Pro (did not do a clean install, upgraded from high Sierra) but app store doesn't work. I couldn't find anything online on how to fix it, and I cannot even look for update without it. Since there is no official support for Mojave yet from Apple, I am hoping someone here can help. I am attaching full crash report with system statistics here. Also here are screenshots of how error looks: it cannot connect and then gives a crash. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help with idea on what to do, I know I am an idiot upgrading laptop I work on to Beta software but hell, curiosity got better of me. Any ideas are welcome, a just clean reinstall is out of the question ( I have nowhere to put files at this time and I cannot lose them) . Thank you a lot for the help

Yes but it is not always possible, I sometimes work on the road and my battery would drain. Also, my battery is giving that "need service"message but I neither have time to change it, neither would really want to pay for such thing).

Hello, good people of Tech Tips forum, I have a problem that I would like to see it is possible to prevent from happening. I own a 2012 retina MacBook Pro and I have one of those microSD card adapters that let it sit inside of the laptop "forever", like on 1st picture showed. Problem is that whenever the laptop is on sleep on low battery if the battery drains out it gets ejected automatically, while normal drive (boot SSD drive), would I think to hibernate. SD card is seen as internal (picture 2) but still ejectable, is there a way to make is seen by the system as a permanent part of it ( make it not ejectable) ? thank you

so I looked further and found an adapter to use mSATA , but I cannot find 2TB SSD, I did, however, find somewhere that this is mSATA in an external enclosure, so could breaking that up and adapting it to apple with adapter work?

Hello, I have 2012 rMBP 15"with 256 gb SSD and I want to kinda refurbish it, get a new battery, new SSD... I was looking at ifix site : here , but the biggest one available is 768gb. What I want is 2 TB. Now my problem is that I cannot find any info on what type of SSD is that, is it like the regular nvme? Could I put this in? Thank you for answers

Hello, I just got iPhone for the 1st time and I have one issue I guess I am too stupid to figure out. How do you go step back? You know that thing you have on android where you press it and it's like one page back on browsers. For example, let's say I am using Tinder and I go into someone's profile, I cannot take a step back into messages, no I have to turn Tinder off and on again. And while on the subject, how can I use that option that my MacBook connects to iPhone cellular automatically when wifi is lost? It is grayed out. And the 3rd question is about camera app, where can I find camera settings and can I shoot a portrait (thing when they blur the background)? Hardware: iPhone 6s, MacBook pro retina 2012, Sofware: Newest IOS and Mac OS. Thanks

But shouldn't dead pixels be just off when the laptop is off. This is visible when the laptop is off, and on the 1st picture, you shud see a little bit of text under the line. That shudn't be a case.

Hello, So I got a unique problem with my parent's laptop screen. There is a black line that got bigger with time in the middle of the screen but it is not dead pixels. The line is too dark, Visible even when laptop& screen are off, way darker than pixels and if you really look close under high brightness you can slightly see text behind the black line. Can anyone give me clue what this can be? Thanks

Yes,and prices for those are "premium" at best,and it is very limiting choise if you want full size keyboard.
