  1. Thanks for all of the encouragement. BOINC to me is just my way of donating/volunteering to help make the world a little bit better. I may not have the best equipment or largest number of pc's running... All I have is time.
  2. Well, it finally happened sometime yesterday. I passed 250 million points in BOINC!!!! It only took me about ten and a half yeaars to get here.... Hopefully the next quarter billion will not take as long.
  3. Here is the answer from the admin... Data was copied from the update server with some corruption in it. Solved by itself. Oh by the way, we did pass the 2 Billion milestone earlier today!!!
  4. I just posted on the BOINCstats forum about this and hopefully one of them will get this fixed there.
  5. What the *******!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The team information disappeared....
  6. Not bad for the placement in the team. I wish that I could bring up my three other boxes for BOINC right now. But, I can't afford the electricity for the boxes or the cooling since they put out a ton of heat. I am down to just 3 active boxes cranking out work 24/7 at the moment.
  7. I'm sorry but I could not resist... Scientific Progress goes F@H just does not roll off of the tongue as well...
  8. It looks like that we will cross 2 billion sometime on May 24 now. As of this time, we were less than 13 million points from the milestone and averaging just over 4 million PPD for the team.
  9. Yeah, and if enough points come in, we can be at 2 billion by the next WAN show. So, hopefully Luke can show some BOINC love on the show for the milestone.
  10. As of time of posting, we are about one week from hitting 2 Billion points for the team total on BOINC You can view the countdown to 2 Billion using the link below: http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/detail/b85bbff1c6df413a4b44cfb82854273f
  11. Sorry, dd not see that. My apologies.
  12. Or you can go to the website of the project that you are working on and it will tell you what you have done for the specific project that you signed up for.
  13. It really depends on the project that you are running. Some projects report credits nearly immediately after you return the results [ like Moo Wrapper ] and others wait until there is validation from another contributor that ran the same task that you ran [ like SETI@home and Climate Prediction ]. Without knowing which project you were running on BOINC, it would be difficult to say if this is normal or not.
  14. Each project that you contribute to keeps a total of the tasks that you have done for that single project. I am not aware of any stats page that pulls the total number of tasks that you have done for all projects.
  15. I have two Dell Precision T7400 workstations [ dual quad core Xeon ], one Dell Optiplex 755 [ Core2Quad / as my bedroom HTPC ], an older Athlon 64 X2 system [ my file server ] and my main game/HTPC rig in my living room. Those are all of the 24/7 computers that I have crunching on BOINC right now. I have another Dell workstation, two more Optiplex 755'sand three or four laptops that I could add to this. But, I have not added those due to wanting spares in case of any hardware failures. None of these are exceptionally fast. My main rig is running at 2.7Ghz per core. All are air cooled and not not really over clocked at all. I do this for the fun and to help out where I can with something that will hopefully benefit all of us at some point. That is why i have been doing distributed computing since the original version of SETI@home released back in 1999-ish and why I have been on BOINC for a just over 10 years now.
