I don't mean to seem like I didn't read the both your reply , but I'm quite confused by what you mean by the upgrade path argument is invalid . The way I see it , is that since both the i3 4170 and the i5 4460 are on the same socket , it'll make upgrading the cpu less of a hassle and will be a cheaper option than getting a new cpu and mobo if I went amd .

How about the h97m anniversary from asrock ?

I've decided to go for the i3 instead if the others , it's mostly due to flexibility as this leaves room for my friend to upgrade to an i5 later on down the road if he wishes.

Actually , what is the difference between the 4160 and the 4170 ?

I've been putting together a parts list for a friend who wants to get into pc gaming and I'm wondering which one of the above cpus is most suitable and also if you can , please suggest a motherboard to go with it.The games he plans to play are bf4 , arma 3 and gta V. Thanks in advance !

I see , but how about comfort , I'm quite worried that the cups won't be big enough and will start clamping my ear lobes and also the potential cabin fever experienced during lomg gaming sessions .

Long story short , I was in a local store checking out headphones and found out they were doing massive discounts on select akg headphones and the k240 mkII was one of them , but I already had my eyes set on the audio technica m20x. I woukd really want to know whether I should pick up the audio technica or the akg ? I'll generally be using it for fps games (ie battlefield 4) , listening to movie soundtracks and jazz , also watching movies.

I have been looking for a pair of headphones around 30$ and I'll mainly use them for games like battlefield and insurgency , alo the occasional movie watching and music listening. And I'm wondering if any if you have good recommendations ?
