    I'm currently running an i7 4790K (so LGA 1150). Is it worth the cost of a whole new base platform to upgrade to a newer CPU, say an 8086 or an 8790K? Current base specs are: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JywcBb i7 4790K ASRock Z97 Extreme4 16GB DDR3 RAM EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 (just got this last week) Proposed upgrade: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CCsLpG CPU can be either 8700K or 8086K Motherboard/RAM not yet set in stone All other parts will be carried over. Thanks to bundle deals and the like I think I can get everything for around 500-600USD. Am I missing out on any performance on a mainly gaming workload but not upgrading or is it worth the money? If it is worth it, then what motherboard would you suggest?
