Hello everyone, I've recently moved to Spain, and have noticed an opening in a prestigious line of the "pcmasterrace". In Spain there are little to none custom pc builders. There are many that sell parts, but the only PC's I've seen are similar to the likes of iBuyPower and that level of quality. Nothing quite like Digital Storm or Maingear per se. My idea is to start a simple website that will feature 1 PC (with two themes available) every quarter and sell it at a competitive price. E.G build for 1,850 euro (with sleeved cables and testing for stability) and sell for around 1,899-1,999 range. I have a lot of past experience in building prestigious PC's. However, I know of many gamers who want a beefy computer but do not know a lot about building computers. My website would add simplicity and quality to the process and satisfy the customer with a bang for the buck rig. I would of course allow for special requests but the main focus would be the featured model of the season. Customer support would consist of email trouble shooting however damaged parts and trouble with hardware would have to be referred to tge part manufacturer. This might be a controversial move but do note that the pc's will be tested for 48 hours to ensure there are no leaks / stability issues before sending it to the customer. I am not planning on earning a fortune here, since pc building is a hobby of mine and sharing the joy of having a great system is what I want to do. Money isn't an issue. Shipping would be worldwide however shipping isn't covered by myself. Now a question for You, the LTT community - what do you think?

I'll look around but 500w should be enough. My current system has a 5960x, 980 ti, 64gb ram and uses maybe 300-400w .

Hello, can someone please tell me if this build will work and will it be quiet? Which 980 is the most silent and which SFX PSU do you recommend? The reason I'm going with an SFX Psu is because in Linus's 18 core Titan X video the PSU obstructed the H80i and he had to make some weird bends. Here's the list: Silverstone SG13 Asus Z170i Ripjaws V DDR4 2X8GB 3200Mhz Black Intel Core i7 6700k Samsung 500GB M.2 SSD EVGA Geforce GTX 980 SC 4GB ACX 2.0 Silverstone Gold 600W SFX Corsair H80i GT V2 Parvum F1 Fan (x1) Silverstone Red & Black sleeved cables ------------------------------------------------------------ What do you think? Will this build work? I'm trying to build a near silent rig, and the only things that worry me are the gpu and psu.

Corsair H100i GTX w/ Asus X99 Deluxe
DomiZ replied to DomiZ's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Thanks for the reply, I installed it without a backplate and with stand offs. My question is, should the H100i GTX be touching the CPU or not? It is above the CPU, does not make contact with it but it installed with the stand offs without an issue. -
Okay. Yesterday I built my PC in a Corsair Air 540, with an Asus X99 Deluxe, a 5960X, and a H100i GTX. Now, here's how I did it so far: I didn't install a backplate because I couldn't, I installed the stand offs on the motherboard, and then placed the water block and but the thumb screws on, but the water block and nothing touches the CPU! I'm confused, since the water block has thermal paste pre applied. My question: Is the water block supposed to be hanging above the CPU?

The only problem with this build is that a 980 Ti won't work with freesync. -
New PC Build 2015 - Need Configuration Help
DomiZ replied to DomiZ's topic in New Builds and Planning
Ok thanks for all the replies, I'm going for team green just because they have better drivers . Any more suggestions? -
Hello All, So I was originally going to go all out and get a top of the line X99 system, but I've changed my mind. I didn't really have a budget, but since 6th generation X99 cpu's are just around the corner and so is pascal, I've decided to build a decent PC for now, in order to buy myself a beast PC in the next year. The only problem is I'm not good at making a budget PC and I need help. First of all, my maximum budget is between $4,000-5,000 usd. Here is how I want to split it up: $1,500-2,000 for PC (with an i7 and micro atx preferably) $800 for monitors (2 monitors, one for PS4 and one for PC gaming and video editing) $400 Peripherals (keyboard, webcam, mouse, etc.) What I already know: PS4 - $400 Microphone and Accessories = about $600 Elgato HD60 Game Capture: about $160 --------------------------------------- This is a setup for a gaming channel on YouTube, I've already got a camera (Sony NEX-VG30) so video is no problem. If my budget is $4,000-5,000 usd, please recommend the entire setup and even software, not just PC. Thanks and have a nice day.

The focus is on a compact, or at least semi-compact (like the 350D) and good gaming performance (1440p or 4K is what im aiming for) and render times are probably #1 on the list, since I need fast rendering. I play all sorts of games, from AAA titles to Indie games, but here are some examples: GTA V, Project Cars, Tomb Raider, Battlefield or CoD (I play both), Bioshock etc. Thanks.

What would be a good build in your opinion in the Corsair Air 240? I'm 100% getting this case or the 350D (just for looks). Can you give me a spec list you recommend? I need a graphics card like a 980 Ti or better, 32GB + Ram and quick storage. My budget is about $5,000 for the PC only. If there is a mini-itx or a different micro-atx case you would recommend, I'm open to that too. My target is a compact editing and gaming beast. Thanks.

Hello all, I'm ordering my PC at the end of August or first week of September and i was planning on doing a X99 build BUT today Skylake came out! To my surprise the new LGA 1151 platform (Z170) does support DDR4 and Thunderbolt 3 (finally). BUT. The best processor out from this range is the i7 6700k, and is priced at $350, while the best X99 processor (from the i7 range, I know about xeons) is the i7 5960x, priced at $999 and 8 cores instead of 4 and more cache. Now, my question is. I was really wanting X99 but now that skylake came out there is ddr4 as a standard and all this new tech is coming out and omg. For 1080P and occassional 4K video editing, which system would you recommend? A Z170 or X99? Here are specs for Z170: Corsair 450D Mid Tower Asus Maximus VII Ranger V.1 i7 6700k Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2133Mhz 32GB (4x8GB) Samsung 256GB 850 Pro WD Black 2TB Corsair AX760i Cablemod Red Sleeved Cables Corsair H100i GTX Corsair AF120 Quiet Corsair SP120 Quiet Twin Pack Asus AC55 USB-Wi-Fi Geforce GTX 980 Ti MSI Twin Frozr Windows 10 Pro ----------------- Specs for X99: Corsair Air 240 EVGA X99 Micro i7 5960X Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 32GB 2666Mhz Samsung 512GB 850 Pro SSD WD Black 2TB Corsair AX760i Corsair AXi 24-Pin + Kit of White sleeved cables Corsair AF120 Quiet Corsair SP120 Quiet Twin Pack Asus AC55 Geforce GTX 980 Ti Reference -------------------------- That's all I've go to say. Just to make it clear, my question is: If I have the budget, should I go with X99 or Z170? Peace

Hello, I was planning on buying a gaming pc for over a year but I came to a sudden change of mind and decided to get a 2015 15" RMBP maxed out. If you womdering, my PC specs were a corsair air 240+i7 5960x+980 ti+32GB DDR4 ram ( there's more but I dont feel the need to write it out. Anyways, I'm getting this laptop but I'm planning on gaming a lot and this laptop has poor gaming performance. I plan on getting a 980 ti as an egpu. I have this idea: Get a RMBP, use it with a external 3440x1440 monitor. Get a expansion device the writer of this thread is using. Get some sleeved cables. A corsair 760i psu (if I wanted sli.) A corsair 250d to house it in. My question is, is it possible to run this with the mac and house the gpu in a corsair 250d? If so could you please give me a list of things I would need to buy? Peace

Hello all, I'm building a PC and I've already made all the decisions for specifications and what I will get, I was originally planning the 240 but it turned out a little to tight for my card and so I went with the 540, which was too big. Finally, I settled the Corsair 350D and it seems just right, weighing in at 6.02 kg. I'll be using this pc for travelling so maximum weight can be 9-10 kg. These are my specifications: Corsair 350D Windowed Asrock Fatal1ty X99M Killer i7 5960X WD Black 2TB Samsung 850 Pro 512GB Corsair DDR4 LPX Vengeance Red 32GB (4X8GB) 3000Mhz CL5 Corsair H105 Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition (x3) Corsair Professional Cables Type 3 (red) Corsair 24-Pin Cable (red) Arctic MX-4 Thermal Paste Asus USB-AC56 Wi-Fi card MSI Geforce GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB ------------------------- The only thing I could find is the weigh for the case, so if anybody would help me estimate about how much kilograms this build would weigh, and if it would weigh more than 10 what could I do to reduce the weight. I'm planning on adding another 2TB HDD and 980 Ti in the future, but right now I need to travel with this PC so I will stay with one. If this all works out and it's sorted out, I promise a detailed LinusTechTips build post and PCPartPicker post with a ton of good quality pictures and description. Cheers
