  1. Ive found lately fancontrol to be laggy when opening and minimizing and i have no idea why
  2. have tried multiple intel pcs, h310, z370 etc. different ram, power supplies. doesn't seem to do anything, but put in a amd pc and it works
  3. Hi, i have a Asus Gtx 1080 turbo, been running great on my Amd x570 motherboard, and also tested on another amd pc. but when i put into a Intel based pc, it's not recognized at all, bios or in windows. Fan spins at a steady speed and the leds are on, but no signal at all, nothing showing in the pcie slot. Have tried 8th, 9th and 10th gen intel but no luck. Anyone got a idea as to why? thanks
  4. no luck tried the new psu. will have to take it back
  5. yeah, will give the other psu a shot in the morning.
  6. tried a riser aswell, no luck, have a 500watt silverstone ill try in the morning. 9400t,16gb 2666mhz ram, 256gb nvme ssd, 1tb hdd, intel cooler, 120mm fan
  7. yeah the 1080 only has 1 8pin and its connected. should be plenty of wattage, cpu is only like 40w
  8. tried all the ports on the psu, different psu cables. the gpu fan is spinning and light is on. tried display port and hdmi connections. have another psu to try in the morning. but the sf 450 has been fine in other builds
  9. hi, im using a Asus PRIME H310I-PLUS R2.0 itx with a i5 9400t, 16gb ram, corsair sf450. I took a working gtx 1080 from my pc to put into this once and it doesn't detect the gpu, have done the latest bios update, fresh install of windows. chipset drivers. just will not detect it. put in a quadro k620 and it was detected but the gtx wasn't. Any help would be nice thanks.
  10. So first is a i7 9700 on a asus z370-p prime, 16gb 3200mhz ram. Boots to bios no issues. But when I go to boot from usb to install Windows, Windows symbol appears then it blue screens with error Whea uncorrectable error. I have tried different cpus, ram, ssds, psu. Also install Windows and put it into the pc, bluescreens at Windows logo. Same error. Second pc, ryzen 5 2600, 16gb 3200mhz, msi b450i. So it will detect and display with a quadro k620, but when I put in any other gpu that requires 6 or 8pin power it won't detect it and the motherboard white vga light is on.. once again tried different cpus, ram, gpus, psu but still no luck. The board is fully updated.
  11. I need help, I switched my nas off 2 days ago, switch it back on and it just gets stuck on this screen. I've searched online but can't find any information that's help full.
  12. No worries. Just priced up a Intel and amd CPU and itx board, i3 9100 combo is $70 less than the amd. Was going to use that case for now and put 2 hdds where the gpu goes
  13. OK cool. How about hardware options? If I don't get the second hand hp. I was thinking a amd 3200g, or an I3 intel. Was considering a low powered CPU like a 8500t but are to pricey
  14. Yeah pretty much. I've had no experience with Linux. Was hoping you could do it on windows
  15. hi I'm looking to build or buy a nas for purely a media centre, sick and tired of being the families video store. I was considering building a its system and using external drive cage or have been offered a Hp elitedesk with a i7 6700, 8gb ram and 256gb ssd for $250aud. I'd preferably like new gear. Wanted to have it in the lounge room connected to a TV so can surf the Web and what not. I think a standard nas wouldn't cut it. Most likely with have a max of 4 users, 2 in the house and maybe 1 or 2 external. Also mainly 1080p. My biggest concern with buying second hand is being a pre built is if say the motherboard or psu die your stuffed, also 6th and 7th gen stuff is harder to find or people want stupid prices.
