This is, by the way, because sand, dirt, and other minerals are much harder than metal, odd as that may sound, so it's much easier to scratch your phone screen (or protector) with a trip to the beach, than a fight with your cutlery set.
Oops, I suppose I should mention that the budget was just for the cpu alone and I'm fine with getting a new motherboard as well with a separate budget for that.
With rumors stating Skylake could be as late as October 2015 I don't think I want to wait that long. Ideally I'd like to get this around March/April, but it's not a dealbreaker if I can't.
I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, and I'm wondering if you all had any recommendations? I have dual 1080p monitors, work with large layer intense files in Photoshop/SAI (up to ~4000x4000px) at times, and almost always have over 25 chrome tabs open. Also I'm looking to get good gaming performance to match my MSI GTX 970.
I'm assuming something that would be good for my usage is probably in the $300-$400 price range so I'm prepared to spend that but cost is definitely something to keep in mind. I'm not in a super big hurry to upgrade so I'm alright with waiting and saving up more to get something that would be worth the price jump, I don't want to be waiting forever, dig?
My current CPU is a Intel i5 3330 3.0Ghz Also I know I'm going to have to upgrade my mobo aswell so recommend me an ATX mobo if you have any in mind.
Thank you very much for your help.
Dual monitor setup with wayy too many tabs and some heavy Photoshop/Paint Tool SAI usage, not to mention I'm getting a GTX 970 very soon and would love to have a beefy CPU to match.
