  1. Wow that was a good review. I will have to look a bit more. Colour accuracy and trackpad might be less of an issue, but the heating seems to be something to consider, no point in having higher performing parts if they they throttle.
  2. I tried to find this section but for some reason could not. Anyways thanks.
  3. Any particular reason? Is the build quality trash, or display is bad or poor themals. At this price range there is always a trade-off, If it is something with which my friend can live without it won't be a bad deal. If you could suggest a better one I can convince him to spend more.
  4. During my initial purchase i didn't know much about ram timing. I used to think higher frequency ram will have better timing by default. Now i know that's not how it works.
  5. Hi guys, My friend wants to buy a new laptop. He came across this one. https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07RTYFS9S/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_hD9sDbNRN55E4 I am just now confident about the CPU. Other than that this one is really good for the price.
  6. Hi everyone, So last Saturday I finally upgraded my ram from 8 to 16gb after almost a year. I have ryzen 1600 and gigabyte ab350m gaming 3 Mobo. The ram which I initially bought is a Adata 8gb, 3000mz Cl 16-18-18 ram. The new one which I bought is also 8gm, 3000mhz but the Cl is 16-20-20. When I initially installed the ram it restarted a couple of time and then windows loaded. I went into task manager and saw 16gb but only 8 was usable and 8 was hardware reserve. I shut down the pc and reinstalled bother the ram sticks. This time I swapped the slots. Turning on the pc and everything was working. Did some stress test, ram test, experience d no crash, no blue screen nothing. I checked the bios to see what was different and the advance ram configuration shows the timing were different for both dimms. I assume swapping the raw caused the 16-18-18 ram to use 16-20-20 timings. Almost 2 days of usage and everything is working. Just want to know if I am missing anything. Am I losing performance? Is it bad for the system? Can I tweak settings to gain more performance. Any suggestions or knowledge will really help me.
  7. Hardware something behave like that for no reason. If the fan spinned the first time than it might be loose pcie power connector or the display might not be connected properly. Don't worry unless the problem repeats.
  8. Try the stock speed again and see if it goes away. 50mhz overclock should not do this, but at least we can narrow down the possibility.
  9. If higher fps is priority then I will suggest get a better CPU. Ryzen 1st Gen struggle to achieve 144 hz. 1440p 60 is achievable on ryzen 1st Gen. For the GPU you can consider a Vega 56 also since they sell for cheap in some places.
  10. Vega 56 is definitely better choice, however Vega cards are power hungry cards. Make sure you have decent power supply, or you can just buy one and still have the better deal.
  11. Should I try the 16-18-18 timing or can I try to do something lower than that. Is the gap between 16-18 and 16-20 really wide?
  12. How much will I be missing, I mean losing a couple of fps will be least of my concern. I am more concern about stability. I don't want to damage the ram or any other components. I can get the ram changed but I might still won't be able to find the exact timings. I might even have to choose a different brand.

  14. Thank you for confirming. Looks like I will have to buy a new monitor. But I yesterday I remember, Linus did free sync on Nvidia card thing using integrated GPU. I was wondering if I could use a cheap second GPU with DVI to output the signal while my rtx does the main task, will that work? I am not sure how exactly all that work but if it can than it will be a cheaper solution. What do you guys think.
