Clear Fluid and the RGB lighting on the CPU block just make this build more "pop" ?
What do you guys think, which one do you prefer more?

Hey guys! I decided to build myself a new compact and nice looking PC for the comming years (hopefully ?).

The system will be based around the Lian Li PC-O5SX case that I've already used once for another water cooling build. So I do have some experience with it. It's a very complicated case for water cooling and requires a decent amout of prep work (rotation fittings etc are needed.).

Anyway... I just wanted to show you some fotos of my progress.

The PSU sleeving was made by myself. I usually order the sleeves of AliExpress. They are cheap and good looking :)

For water cooling I'm using mostly brands like Barrow and Bykski. Why? Because I've had nothing but great experiences with them this far. Bykski is kind of the only manufacturer with a nice looking VEGA 56 Nano water cooler. It will be a hard tube build with 14mm thick tubes. The radiator will be a EKWB 240mm SE and the pump is a Laing D5.

Oh yeah... The PSU ?. The stock fan just had to go! It was such a stupid and loud sleeve bearing fan that I just couldn't leave it on there. So I replaced it with a much quieter BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 High Speed PWM fan, that will be controlled by my motherboard.

    Mainboard: ASUS B450I Strix Gaming
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (-50mV undervolt)
Ram: HyperX Predator RGB 3600Mhz at CL17 (Samsung B-Die), are tweaked to 3200Mhz CL14 with advanced subtimings though.
    Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB
GPU: Sapphire RX Vega 56 Pulse (I will undervolt it by quite a bit)
PSU: Sharkoon SilentStorm SFX 500W (basically the same as the Silverstone one)
    Case: LianLi PC-O5SX

I'm getting towards the finishing line with this PC, thankfully ?
I literally spent multiple hours trying to figure out how I could do the tubing around the reservoir and pump...

DONE!!! ? ; Is it perfect? NO!; Am I happy? YEP! ?

I already know what I'm gonna change once I have to change out the fluid: Reinstall the RGB kit on my waterblock. I removed it but now I think I would have looked nice.. Well

I can't use this build yet, as I couldn't fill the reservoir up completly. The D5 pump was so strong that it produced foam inside of the loop.

I actually finished the build a few days ago. The system runs fine and cool enough. Cooling was my main concerne. But I was able to undervolt my 2600 via an offset of -50mV and I could get my Vega 56 (more or less) stable at around 1000mV core voltage. Vega however is a very temperamental architecture. The system sometimes just freezes with a black screen which is indicating a power issue on the GPU - so my undervolt isn't quite stable yet..

And not only that. Somehow my Asus Aura Sync software is conflicting with the "anti cheat" software of many games.. So I can choose between synced light or gaming ?

    Finally...

The yellow one is different to the other one.

I built this one in 2017. It was based on an i7 6700 and RX 480 8GB GPU

This one was built last year using the Ryzen R5 2600X and a Vega 56 Nano GPU. This build wouldn't have been possible without the Bykski GPU waterblock. It is a very low volume part and back then I just couldn't find another brand producing a Vega Nano water block. Sooo.. ?

When it comes to watercooling I usually go for a mix of well known brands and parts off of AliExpress.

Radiators from XSPC, EKWB, Alphacool and Barrow are usually rather good quality. I wouldn't cheap out on them. Pumps: I get them off of AliExpress. Barrow and Bykski are great brands with actually amazing quality products. You can find good D5-pumps with complete reservoir-kits Waterblocks: I got mine now with the deal of the motherboard and CPU and it was really cheap. But usually I'd go for Barrow or Bykski! Fittings, extenders, rotational parts etc.: No question! I'd go AliExpress all day every day. I found the brands I would usually go with and I've built multiple water cooled systems with them. No fitting has ever leaked yet! Hope it will stay like that ? Tubing: Yep, AliExpress!
Now, I know it might be very unpopular to go with AliExpress parts on water cooling. But I usually don't give much about opinions solely made by assumptions. You've got to test them out in order to make a real defferentiated verdict on them.

To underline this quote I'd like to show you some of the builds I've made by using mostly parts off of AliExpress.

    Hey Guys!

What a stretch is must be to use the words "value" and "W3175X" in one and the same sentence in a positive way! Specially after the launch of AMDs new Threadripper linup.
But what if I told you ,the CPU, Mobo and Bitspower waterblock didn't cost me over 1'400 USD (converted from Swiss Francs)? Yep that's where the "value" kicks in... or just my inner geek that couldn't let such a deal go slip through his hands.. ?

The hardware was only slightly used and in great condition. I was able to test everything at the sellers place and I was also able to register the motherboard on the Asus webpage for warranty reasons, if I will ever need some. This motherboard doesn't seem to have the issue with the wrong resistor.

Okay now, I usually go the "cheap way" without compromising looks and overall feel of the system, so here are my hardware-choices:

    Lian Li PC-O11SWX
    Corsair HX1200
    Asus Dominus ? Extreme
Intel Xeon W3175X (it is now delided) - I used the Delid Die Mate from Der 8auer
Bitspower CPU block that I painted black and silver. I originally wanted to go with the EK-Block. But the seller really wanted to get rid of his block... go figure! ?
    6x16gb G.Skill TridentZ 3000Mhz CL15-15-15-35 1.35V
AMD Radeon RX 5700XT Reference with an alphacool waterblock

The watercooling part in this case will be insane! I won't tell you too much for now but rather keep you updated while I go.

What do you think so far of this build? Oh yeah, by the way... the total amount of this build with all parts (also watercooling) is around 3'800 USD (converted from Swiss Francs)

Some progress has been made today! Getting another radiator into this case was such a pain in the ...
I had to modify the case and remove the original fan mounting bracket in the top and build an "ultra slim" version of it in order to fit the XSPC Ultra Slim 360mm crossflow radiator among with the 120x15mm Silverstone fans.. 1mm of clearance! Success!?

There arent' many builds with this motherboard out there and the Lian Li PC-O11 WXC isn't officially compatible with this motherboard. Though I think it's working out rather well this far.
