  1. Excellent Excellent, this was the last piece of the puzzle. That link was helpful, I didn't realize the difference between class 1 and class 2 adapters (that difference being 300 to 30 feet respectively) I am going to buy: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B003765X38/pohire-20 and: http://www.amazon.com/Jaybird-Sport-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B013HSW4SM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1441591323&sr=1-1&keywords=jaybird+x2 (the Jaybird X2's) I believe these two products will solve every issue I have at the moment with audio. The X2's should allow me to switch between my car bluetooth, phone, and PC and if they don't, I have already have the Bluebuds, so we're all good! Thanks a ton ClownFace and manikyath! I'll go ahead and mark this one solved, but if anyone else has anything they'd like to add I'm still willing to expirement. Oh, and what color do you think on the X2's? Thanks!
  2. I love you. I love you so much. Also I love Jaybird. I love Jaybird so much. Yea these are definitely getting purchased. now I just need the bluetooth adapter for the PC and I'm aaaaall set.
  3. Very very cool, this might be the first half of my answer, they're definitely tempting to buy. The only thing i don't like about my bluebud X's is the cable, which catches on my neck when i adjust them and makes me feel like I'm yanking them across my neck, which gives me worries about longevity. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a bluetooth adapter that fits the criteria. Something that's easy to use, interfaces well with a low amount of audio lag and a good range.
  4. No kidding, I'd love just a big ass antena sticking out the front of my PC. That'd be great.
  5. Honestly, mostly pure laziness. It's a pain in the ass to have to un-pair and then repair using the windows standard bluetooth application ect, ect. Same reason why i use a standard 3.5mm connector in my car rather than the bluetooth. It just doesn't work how it should with more than one signal (car and bluebuds, or bluebuds and PC). That said, like I said in the original post, if there's a really good bluetooth adapter that has a good range and can smart switch the bluebirds once it's in range and turned on, I'd be game for that. But like I said, I'm not sure if its the bluebuds or the car or the phone (HTC One M8, Honda Civic 2015) but they just don't play well together with smart swapping.
  6. Hey all, I'm looking for an audio solution for my home computer use. Specifically, I need earbuds/in-ear headphones that are wireless/bluetooth enabled and a bluetooth adapter (most likely USB) to interface with my PC. I'm currently running an M77 Mpower MSI motherboard if that's useful information. Obviously sound quality will suffer from the bluetooth aspect of it, but I use Jaybird Bluebuds for my mobile use almost exclusively and have never had an issue with them. My main reason for them to not have a connecting wire from the buds to my PC is that those things never last because i'm TERRIBLE to headphone cords. It's like a special super-power of audio cable destruction I have. So above all, they've got to not have a connecting cord from the audio source, to the buds. The buds can have a connecting cable no problem, i'm game either way. Is there a pair of earbuds on the market that have their own wireless interface? Sort of like the Logitech G930's with their own hub that has an especially good range (40 feet plus)? If so I would love a push in the right direction as I've scoured the big names and haven't found anything to my liking that fits that description. If there's not, then i might just buy another pair of something that is similar to the Jaybird Bluebuds. But if I do that, what's the best/easiest to use/best quality bluetooth adapter to interface them with my PC? I'm not looking to spend a huge amount of money, but i'm willing to work within a $200 budget, and might go a little bit above if the product fits my needs exactly. Any and all help is much appreciated. And THANK YOU!
  7. So what would you recommend? I don't have easy access to a pair to try them on. I don't mind them not being portable either, something like the Sennheiser HD 558s are also on my list of possibilities. Got any other recommendations from other companies? Haven't paid much attention to them.
  8. I'm a super newbie when it comes to audio, but I'm looking to start up a beginner 'real' setup. It's almost completely going to be a desktop thing, but occasionally I might want to take it with me on vacation and to work and stuff, though that would be a rare thing (too expensive to break, ya know!?) My mobo is an MSI Mpowerz77 if you need that. That's what will be hooked up for the most part. I also use an iPod nano 4th gen for my audio player, as well as an HTC One M8 for my phone (which I can also use for audio, i just usually don't currently) What I've got so far is: Headphones: Sennheiser Momentum Amp/Dac: FiiO E07K I'm mainly looking for music, gaming doesn't matter as much, though i DO do a lot of it, this is mainly a music and movie setup though. Over-ear is what i'm looking for, weight doesn't matter so much (I've been using Logitech G930's for a couple of years now so I've got neck muscles for days from that weight). A neutral to instrumental bias would be best, I've got pretty eclectic tastes, from Instrumental Jazz, to some pop, to gaming soundtracks. Some albums for instance that i've been listening to recently (don't laugh at my shitty music choices haha) in no particular order: Bastion Transistor Starbomb Marshal Mathers LP2 Pure Heroine The Heist Tron: Legacy Random Access Memories Noir Nitheren The Hobbit OST Gravel & Wine Feeding the Lions Ear Slayer Curses From Past Times Those are just a few. Any recommendations? I'm open to any changes. My budget is 400 max for both headphone, amp, dac, and anything else. I'd prefer not to go so high though, if there are better alternatives for a better price range.
  9. Is there a reason you're not upgrading already? If not, I'd just wait and get a new z87 board with the new chip-set and features and stuff. I've got the Mpower and while it's a beast, I can't see spending 200 bucks on an already technically outdated board when you could spend more and get an entirely new platform. But that's just my two cents! :) P.S. I'm not sure if it's my H100i pump or the board itself, but I have noticed an extremely high pitched noise (coil whine-like) coming from my own board, though it's so low that when turned on you can't hear it, but just so you know. P.P.S As to your actual question, when a new platform comes out, you'll always see a drop in price, but as to when it will plateau, i have no idea. You'll have to just keep watching it.
  10. holy crapballs, this giveaway is awesome. Truly beast components, thank you Linus and thank you Intel/Gigabyte :)
  11. Thanks for your recommendation, but I was asking about a small mp3 player, as I don't use it except for walking.
  12. This will probably get buried, but I thought I would ask this here, as you guys are awesome. My iPod is dying, and I don't want to buy one of the newer ones, as I don't like them. More importantly I detest iTunes, and would like to switch over to a different music player. I'm looking for a device that'll play mp3's, and is small enough to fit in a shallow pocket and not flop around, as I'll be using it when I walk and exercise. A phone is too heavy and big for this, so I need something small, like an iPod gen 4 size range. Is there such a product, and is it worth buying? Also are there any recommendations on media players for windows? I've tried winamp so far, and it seems pretty decent, but it's terrible for compatibility with apple products. Any help would be most appreciated!
  13. A grand you say? Well it looks like you're golden on ram, a case, your hard drive, your OS... so this is what I would do (if you could write down the exact make and model of your MotherBoard that'd be great, but for now I'm just picking a good one out and you can use your discretion.) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ALja That one has a sound card, and is a bit shy of your budget. If you already have a motherboard that has PCI 3.0, you could probably skip the mobo i have selected and go with some good peripherals, if you don't have them. I'm currently using an old gen Razer Blackwidow Mechanical Keyboard and a Razer Naga Mouse. Highly recommend both, but only get the mouse if you play a lot of MMO's. (otherwise get another, good gaming mouse, also I've heard Ducky keyboards are the shit) If you don't want to get those, you can buy an SSD as well! I'm currently using a Crucial M4 of the 256 gig flavor, but a 120gig would be more than enough to have as a boot drive, as well as having some highly used, key programs on it. Trust me, they REALLY increase boot speeds. If you need any clarification on anything let me know!
  14. Alright, thanks man! Edit: Speccy was totally wrong, and now I have just one piece of software to monitor all the temperatures, awesome!
