  1. Whenever I start Steam, in the middle of the screen a black spot the size of 1 pixel appears. Sometimes it's only on the desktop, other times it's in every app there is, so basically always. I thought it was my monitor, gpu or cable. But I've tried different cables, gpu's, monitors, reinstalled drivers after safe boot > DDU. It always gives the same issue. That damn pixel in the middle of my screen. I also reinstalled my pc, everything was fine until I installed and started steam, BAM, it was back. So frustrating..... Good news is that when I close it, it's gone. But it's weird that after even a fresh install it's there again. Whenever I take a screenshot of the pixel area, it also shows up in the screenshot. What on EARTH might be causing this????????????????? It's on a new system with a: 3800x 3200mhz 16gb corsair vengance msi b450m mortar, latest bios samsung evo plus 500gb Not new, from my old system which worked fine, now in my new one: 2x sandisk ultra ii ssd 960gb vega 64 lc Edit: SOLVED, by changing to Steam Beta version.
  2. On my 3800x my idle temps were 80 today after installing my good old h100i I've used perfectly fine on my 4670k. Pump and everything was connected Did I use not enough paste? I used Kryonaut. I reseated it with a tad more paste. First one I was getting 100.... Just by watching a video and it wouldn't come down. After reseating the temps were at 60-70 or something in idle. Now I've installed the standard cooler that comes with it and it's 40-50, but I guess that's normal then? Should I apply a little more paste next time I try h100i? (Extra cpu image to show orientation, does anyone know where the die is located?) See attachments
  3. Guys, I'm torn. Right now I've got a 4670k running at 4.2ghz and I've got a Vega 64 Liquid and 8gb's of ram. I've got a monitor with a 3840x1600 resolution at 75hz. The reason I'm posting this is because I'm being bottlenecked by my cpu in certain games, for example gta V. Now I want to upgrade my CPU, but I don't know which one I should buy. Should I upgrade to a 4790k 2nd hand or should I wait for the i7 9700k and upgrade mobo, ram, etc with it? I don't know what to do. I've searched across the internet and I've seen people saying the 4790k is enough and other peopling saying that I would need to upgrade. So, what do you guys recommend? Is anyone in a similar situation like me? In some games I am bottlenecked, like gta V, but in others I'm not, like Battlefront. Should I buy a a 4790k now and sell my 4670k at total upgrade cost of ~€80 and wait for 10th gen from intel to upgrade. Or is it really worth the while to upgrade to the 9700k and will that satisfy me for the upcoming years? I really hope someone does have a good answer, even though I know it won't be an easy one and there is no definite answer to it. So please, share your thoughts, thank you
  4. Hey guys I need your help, My neighbours asked me for some advice on a video editing pc. They want one for basic video editing, they just want one that functions in editing. It doesn't need to edit/render the videos in the fastest way possible, as long as it's smooth and does it's job. Now I'm not at home at all in the video editing world. What kind of pc would they need? I've got 3 options so far, which one do you guys will suite them best? Will they all work with the program they want to use?
