Basically the title, are these good crystal disk scores for the samsung 980 pro 1tb

All cores have no issue going to their target values. I thought the red/TBV3.0 stuff was for manual overclocking. Like I can push the "red cores" to a higher clock compared to the others.

Thank you! Normally red = bad; so I instantly well googled. I'm no front-end programmer, but a little like mouse-over to tell you what it is + any color that's not red would be nice.

I know W10 has some issues, and W11 handles gen 12 better; but I'm holding off for a few W12 patches. I heard of a few W12 specific issues, etc. Right now I'm enjoying the performance I'm getting, so no need to rush things. By the way tyvm all for the tips. I don't know which of these solutions I'll pick, or if any tbh maybe the cpu is smart and knows "obs = E-Core while gaming"

Yea I'm reading the site, sadly it's not free; but that's not the end of the world. The biggest downside is it's far from a simple app like "borderless gaming" but I guess I can try it out if nobody has anything else here. Edit: free for personal use it seems

I bookmarked the article, skimmed through it. Seems like a bit jank; but will look into it. The only issue I see is when a program makes "child processes" with different name. For example StreamlabsOBS is Streamlabs OBS.exe for the front-end client, but "obs64.exe" for the "backend compression", which you can't really run via shortcut. I think regular OBS does something similar with different .exe files for different for the GUI and the renderer/compressor/the program that does all the thonking.

Happy new year, but in my post I said I'm aware of Affinity, and not a fan since it's not persistent. The concept I had in my head is similar to the "borderless gaming" program. Just whitelist game files for it to maximize/hide the border on launch. Pic of said program:

So with 12th gen, E-cores are great for well background apps, and even stuff line OBS for streaming. Thing is I'd like a program where I can flag say "obs.exe" for it to only use E-Cores. I know I can change what cores/threads a program uses "Processor Affinity" in the task manager, but it's not consistent/persistent. Gotta keep changing it around and etc. Was wondering if something like this exists. Windows 10 btw. Thank you!

Every time I had something like this with AIOs, it would be a dusty radiator; which does not seem to be the case here.

I've seen some benchmarks for gaming, and there seems to be almost no difference between duel and quad channel; which is why I believe it hasn't come back in newer processers. Again this is for games, so I don't know how "professional" software will do. I was curious myself when upgrading from X99, and when I saw quad channel was gone from newer chips I was like "why" and then learned it was almost no gain.

Well thank you so much for the replies, guess I'll stay clear. I don't know too much about tech, I just build pcs like legos "it fits, it sits, it works" -- I just remember parts of that video. sorry if I got something wrong. There is no "practical need" -- but it would make my wires like 1% nicer, especially if I got an adapter for the 8 pin + 4 pin CPU power ones. Instead of a "U bend" you get with a regular insert, this would just have the wire pop out of the "management hole" and slide in the 90 degree adapter.

What would you suggest a nice premium m.2 pcie4 drive, with "good dram" I don't even know what dram is, but a friend said "recently samsung has been removing dram/having shitty dram" in their ssds, which apparently lowers their speed or something.

So this is going to sound silly, amd I promise it's not a troll. I like buying "fancy" stuff. For example when I was building the 12th gen rig I got the i9 vs i7 which is mostly the same just to "feel good about having the i9" For me Samsung is like "The #1 brand" when it comes to SSDs, and well the PRO series from what I understand is "their best stuff" Think of it like buying designer clothes. I might overpay a bit, but inside I feel "happier" having a nicer item.

Nothing is wrong, didn't order anything yet. I just watched a bunch of videos, and you have conflicting statements. One guy says "temps dont matter, you want it to be hot," another guy goes "thermal throttling, ree" As for use: it's going to be 100% dedicated to steam (games), like my current drive is, one singular folder in it. S drive, S:\Steam.

Aside from the odd twitch streams I do for friends (when I'm lost in a game and need their help) my rig is 99.99(999)% gaming and watching anime. A benchmark video where the guy also said heatsinks don't matter (naked SSD, not using the mobo's heatsink OR third party) had it running at 90C -- which scared me a bit; so 90C doesn't matter?

My mobo only has one port, but you can buy these 10$ heatsinks that I heard people claim are just as good/better. I know the drives run hot when under load with no heat device, thing is I watched a video and if I understood correctly he was going about how the "drives heat is no big deal, you want the drive to be hot at times, and unlike other pc components drives aren't being used 100% for long periods of time gaming" So yea this comes down to: When I get more M.2 Devices, should I stick on a 10$ heatsink, does it even matter, etc. I don't know much about "How stuff works" -- I just buy the parts and build adult legos.
