Hey guys, I was wondering if you could give me some suggestions. I would like a transformer windows tablet, but don't want to spend surface pro3, or xps 12 kinda prices. So I think my CPU is throttling, every 8-10 seconds my game will freeze for a microsecond and then climb back up to high fps. Maybe the be quiet advanced isn't cooling well enough? If so any advice on a different air cooler for the 5820k?

It fits the place just the screw wasn't big enough so I didn't apply the coolers backplate and just used my mobos backplate. Then I think I messed up the placement of the fan and thermal compound so the cpu ran at 95c before shutting down. So I've gotta go out to get some rubbing alcohol tomorrow to clean it off and try again.

Is it bad not to use the provided backplate and I just use the motherboards back plate to put the screws in? Cos otherwise the screws just aren't long enough to get through both backplates and the board.

I cant figure out if I'm supposed to take the backplate off the mobo or I keep it on, because the screws on the other side only just go all the way through

So I bought an i7 5820k msi x99s sli 4 x 4 ddr ram and a be quiet advanced c1. I'm trying to install the cooler now but I've never done it before and now I'm not sure the c1 fits a 2011v3 I thought it was the same size as a 1366 so it would fit.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah I thought it was a 1150 board DDR4 is real expensive atm, but a 5820k would be a nice bump, but I guess I'd be able to afford if the mobo cpu and ram was roughly < 650.

Thank goodness I looked beforehand, my board is a gigabyte z77 d3h socket 1155. So it won't fit my current board right? I'd need to get a new board if I wanted it, so would it be worth getting a new board and the i7 5820k at the same time? If so what is a decent £150 ish board to get with the 5820k.

Oh that's interesting, I'm just planning on running dxtory while streaming so I'll see how that goes. I have a full tower desktop so size won't affect me. This is quite interesting information and it certainly proves that the 4790k is a beefy CPU but how much of an impact do you think recording locally would have on a CPU while streaming. That's a lot of data transfer, so how would it affect the framerate of games. Also I'd probably need to upgrade from my stock cooler so which would you recommend (760w psu so nothing too big pls)

Smite is very intensive :'( I have enough upload speed overhead so I'm not worried about that, I just want it to look nice at a consistent fps.
