I don't really understand all the "rubber domes = automatically bad" snobbery. Sure, they don't feel as nice to type on as a mech, but a good rubber dome board can last you ages. Same thing with Hall Effect, which have a theoretical lifespan of 131 years per switch.

 

Just because a switch doesn't have a contact leaf and the slider contacts a rubber pad against a PCB or it uses magnetic fields to actuate instead doesn't automatically mean it's the worst thing ever.

    it's probably because a lot of cheap, bad rubber domes get the most exposure tho
