I didn't see the link at first. I don't think a splitter like that will work. The modem we have now is connect to a coaxial for internet. The modem itself then has a phone jack port built into it.

So how does your phone one work? Is it like a box just for the phone?

It's funny I was just looking at that. Current speeds are 87Mps down and 12Mps Up. Apparently the modems need to be eMTA for it to be compatible.

Do you also have phone service? That's the only issue I'm really having with buying a modem.

So what you are saying is that I can't get my own device? Even though people do it all the time. I just need one that has a telephone jack for the home phone.

We get a ten dollar charge every month for the gateway device...

So currently we have Comcast for phone, internet, and cable, but we want to purchase a modem so we can stop renting it from Comcast ($10 dollar charge every month). The one we are currently renting is an Arris DOCSIS 3.0 Residential Gateway . However, I want to purchase something like an Arris / Motorola Surfboard as a replacement. The problem is that the modem we are renting from Comcast has a phone jack for our home phone service and finding a modem with a phone jack isn't as easy as it seems. Is there any way around this? Or are there any other modems that will work? Also any router recommendations? Currently have a Linksys E2500 , not sure If I should upgrade or not.

My front panel audio recently stopped working and was looking into replacing it. I've already contacted Fractal Design and am waiting for a response, but I was wondering if anyone knows anyplace where I can just buy a replacement part. I currently have windows 8.1 pro installed on my computer, but because it is a cloned copy, it is no longer activated. The other storage devices is in use in another computer so using it wouldn't be an option. My only choices now would be to buy a licence for windows 8 or you know...Can't stand that "Activated Windows now" B.S anymore. Options 1) buy this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416779, Problem is that I don't know if the key will work in activating windows 8.1 pro or if it is only for an upgrade to windows 8.1 pro...which is what i have installed. 2)Use the re-installation disc that came with my laptop about 4 years ago and buy this, http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/productID.264954100 , my windows 7 will have the build error but i know it works cause it is what i origally did when i got windows 8 pro for $15 bucks *now 70*. but even though it's cheaper I'm just too lazy.... Anyway, anyone know if the product upgrade key from newegg will work? It'll save me the hassle. Unless anyone has a windows 8.1 pro key they don't want.

I cloned my OS from my vertex 4 64gb to a samsung 240gb ssd. It's been runing fine but after I plugged the vertex 4 into my the computer i built for my parents, mine now has that "Windows 8.1 Pro Build 9600" watermark. Granted I know this isn't the proper way to get an OS but you know, they aren't cheap. Does anyone know a way I can re-activate it without paying. *using the license code i have says it is already being used on another computer.
