  1. I was recently gifted some gaming mices - and got sucked into customizing/modding them. I'm currently looking for mouse grip tape and replacement skates. If anyone have recommendation where to order them (preferably on the low cost side lol) Please let me know, I'm on a budget
  2. Hello Fellow LTTers~ I'm considering retiring my GTX 1080 - after years of great service and upgrading to a RX 6800 (non-XT) for 1440p gaming; I just lean more towards a cooler/quieter setup - even if it costs a few frames; I'm willing to make this tradeoff. Thought I'd reach out to RX 6800 (non-XT) owners on the possibility of reaching 70-75% specified TDP w/ undervolt+ light underclock (maybe 5% - no more than 10% max). Any information would be greatly appreciated. For additional context: Since I have a stealth setup that's been integrated into a shelf, the PC is laying flat on the side - in a MATX case; w/ [x2] 140mm Noctua AF fans (intake), a single 120m exhaust + PSU fan exhaust + spacing between the expansion slots due to the positive air pressure. This setup has served me very well; and is very quiet - barely audible even when running at load; CPU (3700x) and GPU temps are fantastic and I'd like to keep it this way for my preferences. Edit: Corrected typos, cleaned up grammar and added more info.
  3. This doesn't answer my question at all - behind the ear wireless headsets existed way before AirPods came along - and if you search "Wireless Headset" on Amazon or any major electronics retailer - it's all wireless overhead headsets/headphones. I'm asking what happened to "behind the neck" style headphones/headsets.
  4. Anyone know what what happened to "Behind the Neck" headphones and headsets? they have all but disappeared from the market - from all major brand news such as Logitech, Corsair, Plantronics, Sennheiser, etc - they used to be everywhere 5 -10 years ago - and now; none can be found on the market in the under $100 price range - any specific reasons for this? If anyone from this industry can chime in - it would be super interesting to know... Been waiting forever for a good wireless pair to show up - for work from home - for calls, etc - since headset/headphone hair is too real... tired of having to clear up the indent headphones makes in my hair after a 8-12 hour shifts Edit: Added photo examples to clarify my question... 1) Corsair Vegeance 1100 2) Logtitech Clear Chat (can't remember the other model # - more modern) 3) Plantronics - Audio 648 With widespread use of Lithium batteries - and updated Bluetooth revisions - these can be updated and made into wireless form factors.
  5. Recently started the long process of wiping my old HDs using kill disk. However the UI is stretching off screen - no matter which monitor I use (of varying resolutions) but the result is the same i am booting this off an old HP small form factor PC - VGA out to my display if anyone could help with this, it would be greatly appreciated
  6. Currently working from home with a single ISP (Cable) Considering getting a 2nd line (DSL) - just 50Mbps - Don't need anything super fast - enough for work/teams meetings I recall years ago at a previous job; someone mentioned a Link Aggregation router/modem/switch? - that essentially stitches bandwidth from 2 ethernet lines into one output; this combines the speed from both ISPs - and adds redundancy - in the event one provider goes down. Does anyone know what these devices are called & where to buy them in Canada? Looking to get someone like this DSL (50Mbps) + Cable Internet (150Mbps) => Single 200Mbps output/redundancy
  7. Having read the news with Terraria today reminded me of a prior experience I had with g-mail... (thankfully I was able to resolve it myself - since customer service was non-existent). But this is a serious wake up call for me and I'm in the process of deciding on a new e-mail provider going forward... and my e-mail strategy in case of "worse case" scenarios. The very idea of being locked out of my primary e-mail sends chills down my spine; it would be disastrous and extremely disruptive... For reference; this will primarily be used for personal e-mails and a secondary e-mail for school... If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or thoughts on this matter, please share. Edit: Does any e-mail service provider have customer service or a recourse process in case of account locks/etc?
  8. Dug up some parts recently... wondering if my Antec Earthwatts 380W is enough to run a GTX 960? (No overclocking of course). PSU: EA-380D GREEN GPU: MSI GTX 960 - Green Limited Edition (2GB) CPU: i5-3470 And I've found a single Sata to 8pin GPU connector; would this be safe to use? since the Antec PSU only comes with a single 6PIN GPU power connector. This system will primarily be connected to a 4K tv for 4K/60HZ - mainly streaming @ 4K and sometimes minor gaming @ 1080p (e.g. Among Us, Castle Crashers and maybe Half Life 2 when I'm feeling nostalgic).
  9. I have all 3 of these adapters at this point; none of them is able to bring up a higher resolution than 1280 x 960 @ 60hz. I plug the same monitor (same VGA cable) into a GTX 970; I can set the P1130 as high as 2048 x 1536 at 80 Hz. I am hoping to get at the bare minimum 1600 x 1200 @ 60hz or 1400 x 900 @ 75/85hz on CRT from the GTX 1080... if anyone has any idea what's going on; please chime in.
  10. I sure hope so... I doubt I'll be able to find an active DP to VGA adapter that'll allow something ridiuclous like 1600 x 1200 @ 100hz. Which I can achieve via a GTX 970 via DVI to VGA adapter...
  11. Thanks for the info/clarification... my expectations isn't "that" unreasonable; if I can get even 75/80hz @ 1600 x 1200 on that Dell PT1130, I'll be more than ecstatic. Would any active adapters be able to achieve this? or am I forever stuck in 60hz land?
  12. I see... can you do more than 60hz via BNC connectors? vs the 60hz limitation on the active adapter? is there anyway to get over 60hz (even lower resolutions via the adapter?)
  13. Hello fellow LTTers, Recently got a Dell P1130; had it connected to a GTX 970 (test rig) and now I genuinely want to replay a few games (starting with Tomb Raider 2013) via my main rig - which has a GTX 1080. Since analog signal support ended w/ the Nvidia 9xx series; I'm wondering what options are for connectivity? I know an active DP to VGA adapter could be the answer; but I'm sure exactly what to get/look for. I stumbled across the DigitalFoundry video w/ the FW900 for Control (w/ max ray tracing); but it didn't offer much information on how they setup their system. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Edit: Just realized I forgot to mention my concern with refresh rate limitations with active DP to VGA adapters... >_> I don't suppose I'll be able to do... say 75/80hz at 1600 x 1200?
  14. This thread should give some insights on the Levono's performance. I think you may have better results with response times and reduced smearing/ghosting at 120hz... I'm going to avoid budget or entry level monitors going forward... There's also this from AOC https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07ZB2TNZZ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1 but the issue with the AOC and the Lenovo (I highly suspect they both use the exact same panel) is the ghosting and image smearing when you try to do "flick shots" in some games. This is very apparently on the AOC 32" 1440p 144hz VA I tried last year... I'll keep an eye out for now on LG and BenQ 34" 3440 x 1440 monitors for now...
