  1. It will be my daily driver and I have to go on the i7 gamma from even the the 7xxx gen to get the same performance as this i5 Even with the discount from the Acer store it will cost me 700 EUR, 100+ more than this one with the same exact hw specs. Is it worth? (:

  3. Hi forum, advice needed ahead! I have to move to Holland for at least 2 months and I don't have a suitable laptop. The one that I'm typing on right now is a 6 years old Aspire V5 with a mere Celeron 1007u and 4 gigs of ram, upgraded later to 8 and a 240GB WD Green SSD. The chassis itself isn't in the condition to be used too much outside and on the way out it cracked the screen (which used to be touch) and the CPU itself is not up to stuff anymore, so I found a deal on the Dell website ongoing until the end of this week, which is 15% off of Alienware, XPS and Inspiron. So i found the Inspiron 5370 i5-8250U (4 cores 8 threads) Intel 620 256 GB SSD 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 1080p 13.3" screen Battery life is nice to have so the absence of a dedicated GPU is nice (no gaming required on this device, plus it has a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port so I can in the future get a dock and use my soon to be replaced 970 on it). All of this for 594 EUR plus 29 EUR for shipping. The original MSRP is 728 EUR. Plus, Dell doesn't care if you use Linux for warranty so that's a nice plus, and firmware updates are supported on Fwupd so that's a really nice addition! Is this a good deal, on your opinion?
  4. Thanks for all the feedback guys! So, in order I tried convincing him that an i5 isn't really that necessary but i can go down to i3s, no further: the suite isn't that light and it won't be the only thing running knowing my father. I went with that mobo cos it has 4 slots of ram in case he wants to upgrade to 32 (really don't know) and H110 has only 2 slots. I can tune down the SSD too! Also, the memory kit is the cheapest i could find. Damn ddr4 is still expensive, my build is stil ddr3 based. EDIT I just found out that the 6400 is limited to 2 memory channels at 2133MHz max, so back to the drawing board for memory i guess, considering that the ones i chose are 2400.
  5. Hi mates! I’m trying to build a PC for my dad’s office that is currently rocking (at best, can’t remember right now) a DDR2 system. He is trying to spend 500 EUR taxes non included, so it's like 610 EUR tax included, but we can manage to arrive at 700 tax included. He doesn't have the slightest clue on what to get, he's not a tech savy by any mean so i'm trying to build him a solid pc for office use and with some "futureproofing". He has to use a specific suite of programs that require at least 8 GB of ram (or so they say) and other DB management software, he's a medic. That's what i have come up with so far https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/X4Wh2R and i kinda need a case (nothing fancy, a micro-ATX should be fine) and a PSU that isn't too expensive but not auto-inflammable, also because there's no need for a GPU, the integrated one will work just fine. Monitor for now he can keep the old one and what really hit me was the price of the i5-6500, the 6400 is 40 EUR cheaper but isn't the 6500 the "value" one? Correct me if i'm wrong. Thank you for any help that you are able to give me, also suggestions for the parts that i already picked are appreciated as well!

  7. With my old headphones i was still able to listen everything, that's why i was searching for Sennheiser ones, they were absolutely wondeful.
  8. Hi guys, I've been cycling fro around a year and now i'm going to "upgrade" my hobby by buying a much better bike than my current one, but today my current pair of Sennheiser headphones stopped working from one side, and it kinda bugs me :< i've just seen Luke's 686g sports video on vessel but 100E for a pair of headphones is just too much for me as I have to use them around, yes i'm a bit and audiophile but I still have to hear the traffic, they don't have to be ground breaking Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

  10. Thanks, now i will surely go for the Strix, also because it's 10 eur cheaper already!
  11. Thank you all, maybe tomorrow will be the day, i'll lurk the internet until then!
  12. Not planning to overclock, it's my first desktop build, let me make some experience first I can find a G1 but it's 30 EUR pricier and I'm already spending ca 100 EUR on top of the budget I intended. As said, no oc as of yet. Thanks for the thoughts, if I understood correctly you are all practically saying that if I don't overclock the strix would be a better choice, yes?
  13. As title says I'm currently buying from amazon.it (Italy) my build and I planned to buy the Gigabyte Windforce 3x OC for 346 EUR, then I found an Asus Strix for pretty much the same price only used, optimal conditions (only the box has minimal damage according to the amazon warehouse description). The Gigabyte card is this exact model and the Strix.. is the Strix Which card would you pick and why? The only reason I would consider the Strix is the backplate since I can't afford a G1 Gaming but I don't care about the 0db technology.
