  1. Just tried that, right clicked on the icon, pressed "Eject", Drive popped open, closed it back up, still did not detect the disc that was in the drive. (thanks for the idea though )
  2. Hello. I have a https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Optical-Drives-Storage/SDRW08D2SU_LITE/overview/ , and it has stopped working. i was wondering if anyone could help me. the drive itself is still detected, but it always behaves as if there isn't a disk in it.(I have tried with multiple disks and computers) The issue began when the drive was accidentally unplugged as it was burning a file to a disk. Thank you, and please ask if you need any more info.
  3. Had the box on my desk, it got thrown out when someone didn't realize what it was. i was even more stupid then. (oh, i can just go into the os and grab it if i need it!) I'll just repurchase win10.
  4. i was stupid and forgot to save my windows 8 key. (this post is more of a i was dumb than win10 was dumb anyways)
  5. Hello, i just felt i needed to talk about this somewhere. Because of trying to fresh install windows 10 (and messing it up a bit) i have lost my windows key and have wasted 100$. I upgraded for win 8 to 10, then fresh installed after what i thought was retrieving the upgraded key. unfortunately, it turns out that was not the case. so now i have an unactivated windows 10 fresh install, and my windows 8 key won't work either. i have lost a 100$ purchase.(i have contacted ms support multiple times) a lot of this is my fault, i am just very angry right now and needed to talk about it somewhere. thank you for reading
  6. http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect is the only one i know of. I used it to update my IGPU drivers
  7. why would the screw type matter?(EDIT: i get it now)
  8. yeah. i would say the main bit was i dropped it (i was mainly looking for "oh, the read heads are misaligned, or something of the sort) it really is too bad, it was nice for mass storage.. at least i have a working 3.5 inch drive enclosure
  9. but does anyone know why it is doing that? i know it is dead, i just want to know why, really (other than me opening it)
  10. i was pretty sure it was dead anyway, just wondering it wouldn't start before, so... plus the warranty was void. so if this finished it off, too bad, but at least i got too see it try to start ;P
  11. Recently i dropped a wd mybook. since the warranty was void, i decided to try and see if i could fix anything. i opened it up, and grabbed a video of what was happening when i turned it on. soo, i am wondering if this is fixable, or have i killed a poor 3TB WD green
  12. well, i have an Air 540, so i can tell you some stuff about it it's pretty nice, but yes, other than the grill itself, the top and front panels are both completely plastic. it seems relatively smudge resistant, so that is good. the window is okay, i am quite careful around it, so i cannot speak for its scratch resistance. i do have a H110 in the top as intake(not something most people would do, i am guessing.) and it does get dusty, but before i had this i had nothing in the top, and i didn't notice any excessive amount of dust getting in. i haven't really noticed the hard drive cages rattling/shaking, but it did throw me a bit when i noticed the holes in the bottom of the thing. my only real regret is that i didn't realize that i could've gotten a MATX motherboard and used the 240 ;p
  13. i regret my air 540. yes, it is awesome, but i realized, all my stuff could have fit in a 240, just needed get a MATX motherboard...
