  3. Great... i picked up a old m65 from Overclockers UK with the original logo (Non RGB) and i think it is great that they stock that option.
  4. the 970 is probably the better option seeing as in benchmarks it beats the 290x and the 780ti in some, along with the Maxwell architecture which brings reduced power needs and the great overclock-ability which has been found on these cards. if you are willing to wait it may be an idea, as the new amd 300 series cards may be released sometime soon which is rumored to be in competition with the 980 so it may drag prices down if amd's competition is released at a cheaper price... just a thought.
  5. This may be because some games now require a quad core or higher and just wont run on dual core systems such as farcry 4 which require 4+ physical cores.
  6. this may help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj4ixZE7EWo
  7. what processor are you using because FC4 may not run on dual cores.
  8. What are you looking for more specificaly. Are you ok to play games on medium or do you want to be able to push ultra settings at 40-60 fps?
  9. A 750W PSU can easily handle a 290x
  10. Go with the AMD build but switch the FX-6300 for the FX-8350. The cpu has weaker single thread performance but 8350 and r9 290 beat i5 and r9 280. The GPU is the most important component when it comes to games. Also the 8350 will beat out the i5 in many multithreaded workloads and will help in games running engines such as Forstbyte 3 and when the DX12 API is released.
  11. ok thanks, im planning to stay on air for the forseeable future.
  12. I am trying to overclock my 7970 and it seems to have a locked voltage of 1.2 mV so i can't go higher than 1150 mHz. Is it worth unlocking the voltage (if so how) or should i stay with this 1150 mHz stable overclock?
  13. Replace the 3770k with a 4790k, also the z77 motherboard with trhe equivilant z97 board, and the 780 with a 970 or 980 if you can stretch your budget. The extra memory on the gpu will help push higher resolutions and also they require less power.
