  1. I've never had the "Luxury" of using high grade gaming peripherals such as those. I usually go for mouse/keyboard combo (a4Tech for 10$ anyone?). Looking at them makes me think "Okay i love it but i can't afford it". So if i win, i'll cherish every gaming/working moment.
  2. Hi, Just wanted to let you know that i took my z97 mobo to the store and they confirmed that the mobo's 1st and 2nd dimm slot is defective. I bought a new cheap mobo to replace mine and will wait for the z97 mobo delivery after they finished repairing it. I might just sell that or let my brother use it while i save up for a new z97 mobo. Thanks
  3. Hi, Before i went through the steps you mentioned, i tried to test all the ram slots. Apparently, A1-A2 slots are not working. I've read some post related to it and it seems that the cause may be because of a bent pin on the cpu socket. I need to return this to the store where i bought it from (because they were the one who assembled my PC in the first place) and to diagnose the problem further. If it is indeed a bent pin, then, they should take responsibility because i haven't touched the CPU socket since i bought this. I'll post an update after i take it back to the shop. Thanks a lot.
  4. Hi, Thanks for the reply. Is there anyway you could point me in the right direction as to the solution you're suggesting? Can i set it using the Asrock z97 Anniversary Mobo Bios?
  5. My Specs: CPU: Inter® Core i5-4690k Board: Asrock z97 Anniversary Edition RAM: HyperX Fury DDR3 1866mhz 4gb x 2 (not a kit) (HX318C10F/4) GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti OS: Win 7 Professional So here's the story, when i bought my PC (2 months ago), my budget was very limited. So, i opted to go with a single DDR3 memory module (HyperX Fury 4gb 1866mhz) and planned to buy another later down the road. That happened yesterday, bought 1 exactly like it (even the color "Blue"). But, i wasn't able to place them on both blue slots nor both black. (A1-B1 and A2-B2), neither of them let me boot to bios. However, I am able to boot to bios when i placed the dimms on B1-B2 but not A1-A2. As i see on the bios, it detects that my memory installed is 8gb but on a single channel. Tested both dimms and they are working fine. I am able to boot to bios while using just one dimm. Although, i haven't tested all the dimm slots. My questions are, i should be able to use them for dual channel, am i right? Or maybe i bought the wrong kind of memory for my board? Does buying a "Kit" matters when wanting to have a dual channel or what i bought is "just right" and there may be something wrong with my board? Thanks
  6. This will be a good start for my new pc coming this january. Hope i win
  7. Yeah i think going for the G3258 is better. Thanks!
  8. Hmm you have a point. But, I need to have the computer this month as i will be using it for work on January. If i buy the g3258 one, then maybe ill upgrade to a broadwell one. Does H97 work with broadwell?
  9. Would you kindly point me to the right direction as to what h97 mobo should i go for?
  10. Yeah that's what i'm afraid of., hence, the future upgrade of CPU in April (maybe).
  11. That's what i was thinking as well. It wont be much of a problem if I cant sell the g3258, but it will be a big problem if i cant sell the GTX 770. Regarding your point with the motherboard, wouldn't it be better to buy the latest z97 board rather than getting a h97 one? I have this motto when buying electronic devices to go for the latest one which cost higher but will last longer (model/style/features) rather than going for the cheap one that would eventually be outdated. Though i'm still thinking about the bottleneck part.
  12. Hi, Christmas is near and im excited to buy a gaming rig. However, i'm having problems as to which is better to buy. Im on a budget and i can't go all the way with the best part so i was thinking if I could buy some parts now, and upgrade later. It's mostly concerned with the processor and the gpu. CPU Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core $57.00 CPU Cooler Cooler Master Seidon 240M 86.2 CFM Liquid $74.99 Motherboard ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer ATX LGA1150 $114.98 Video Card Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB $326.99 Should I go with these components? The cost is around $600 and i was thinking, if in the future, and if i can afford it by then, i could upgrade the CPU to a 4690k. I heard that the g3258 cpu is unlocked and is great with overclocking, would it bottleneck the gtx 970? Since i also included the Seidon, overclocking the g3258 wont be a problem, and if ever i change to the 4690k, i can still use the seidon for overclocking it. Or CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core $219.29 Motherboard ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer ATX LGA1150 $114.98 Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB WINDFORCE $249.99 Should i go with these components? Almost same cost as the above, however, i don't have a water cooling unit in this spec, as well as i will only be using the gtx 770. For future upgrades, i will be getting a seidon as well, and maybe upgrade the video card to a gtx 970. The drawback of this setup is that im stuck at using the stock cooler and i cant overclock the CPU. As far as i can see, the first option is better since i would only be needing to upgrade the CPU which costs around $150 more, rather than the 2nd option which will cost around $150 as well but i would have to re sell the GTX 770 as 2nd hand as it would be a waste not to resell it unlike the g3258. Feed backs and expert opinions/criticism are welcomed. Thanks
  13. @AHaskin14 How about the motherboard, ssd and hdd? Should i go for the cheapest z97 one or get something from a specific brand? Thanks
  14. @Ramamataz Hi! Thank you for the reply. I will compare the price and components from your list to the price list i provided. CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor PHP 11060.00 Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard PHP 7270.00 Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory PHP 4430.00 Storage: Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive PHP 3570.00 Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive PHP 2270.00 Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card PHP 7420.00 Power Supply: Cooler Master GXII 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply PHP 2960.00 Total: PHP 38980.00 Well within my budget. My only concern is the video card. Is it better to get the gigabyte gtx 750 ti or the zotac gtx 770 amp edition? They have a difference of PHP 6500 ($144 USD). Is it worth it to cost $144 usd more to go for the gtx 770 amp or just do an SLI with the gtx 750 ti? And if ever I do an SLI config, is the 550W PSU enough to provide the juice? Thanks! Nevermind the SLI gtx 750 ti. I didn't know that i can't do SLI with that card. So my question remains, gtx 750 ti or gtx 770 amp which cost 144 usd more?
