  1. Knox is a bit flag that is set to 1 whenever you flash a third party rom or a custom recovery kernel. Having a tripped knox basically equals voided warranty, since it's impossible to reset knox. Source: https://www.kingoapp.com/help/samsung-knox-counter.htm
  2. The Xeon E3-1230 v3 and E3-1231 v3 are server processors from Intel. The lower end Xeons are similar to Core i5 and i7's of the same generation. Linus covers the Xeon vs i7 thing here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ59vHSFfZA
  3. From PCPartPicker, the cheapest i5 that can replace your G3258 is the i5-4460, for ~$180USD from (pcpartpicker, Intel Ark) If you want to bump that up to a hyperthreaded quad core, the cheapest are the E3-1230 V3 / E3-1231 V3 for ~$240USD (pcpartpicker, Intel Ark) Just for the record, the cheapest i7 in the same generation is about $300USD
  4. I used to have a G75 (albeit with a GTX 670M). My laptop's display used to show up as Generic PnP Monitor all the time, so should be ok. In device manager, having only the GTX 670MX show up is normal (unless you're running with multiple gtx670mx's in SLI). When booting up without the HDMI cable not plugged in, do you get the ROG boot logo?
  5. An overclockable processor has a "K" at the suffixi7-4790K -- Unlocked i7-4790 -- Locked
  6. I have to say I like the power supply the best. I will embrace any power supply that can power a/many floppy drive(s). The sound the drive makes reminds me of my childhood. Ye. Call me weird TL;DR PSU + one or more 4-pin floppy connector + one or more floppy drive(s) + the two windows 95 installation floppies that I still have = much love + much nostalgia. I have no idea why the "too long; didn't read" section is longer than the section that it's supposed to shorten.
