  1. picked up a evga 980 ti hybrid for a great deal, loving the card so far

  2. so ok now im confused. should i get reds instead? since its slower isnt it more reliable? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236599&cm_re=wd_red-_-22-236-599-_-Product they are also cheaper lol.
  3. again its only PDFs i think her current server is a 1tb and shes seems fine
  4. so 2 4tb drives would be ideal then? she has all the switches set up already so i think it should be fairly plug and play. but f*ck me it seems like a pain.
  5. yes i meant raid 1 lol. dont know why i said raid 0.
  6. sorry i meant raid 1. and like PDFs and stuff
  7. i was thinking that. the server seems to come with a raid card so raid 0 would suffice. and in terms of backups. how would that work. also fixed the hard drive link
  8. that much i know, but is it gonna be decent enough to have multiple people assessing it at once?
  9. So my aunt runs an escrow buinsess with a lot of clients and about 5 employees. Her server is failing and she needs help building a new one. So she asked me. Trouble is i dont know much. All she knows is shes gonna be running windows server 2012 and needs at least 4tb and needs it to be under 600 before the license. this is what i was thinking. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA9JJ5HR8425&cm_re=lenovo_server-_-59-109-925-_-Product and this hard drive https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822235058&cm_re=wd_server-_-22-235-058-_-Product is this gonna work?
  10. fuck em. almost all ISPs in seattle are scummy.
  11. you were ready to spend a butload of money on a threadripper. Just use the money you save by getting a 7700k and get a 1080 ti.
  12. And you said "buy" so im gonna assume you're not building? If not https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIABFS5VK6125 this is a decent option.
  13. yes but dont buy the threadripper for a gaming pc jesus christ. get an 1700 and a 1080ti or a 7700k and a 1080 ti and will last just as long.
  14. picking up an oculus today from a dude on Offerup. Hyped.

  15. should i get an oculus? Seems like a lot of fun.

  16. where are you from? And what tech websites do you use
  17. Most likely gonna end up buying it today. the codex is a great system and the deal is too good.
  18. i mean ive RMAd a few parts in my day, went by fine. But i may just go with this because its the best deal ive seen in a long time.
  19. i know thats the main thing thats worrying me, Where i work we sell a lot of refurbished computers and they get returned quite often, but they tend to be much cheaper desktops so idk. that 90 day warranty is what spooks me.
  20. So my buddy has a budget of 1000 dollars max ( like not a dollar more, i would be hooking him up with 7 dollars for shipping lol) and we were originally looking to build. but then this caught my eye https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883152268&cm_re=gtx_1070_desktop-_-83-152-268-_-Product The build we had for 1000 was a 1500x and a 1060. but this looks so much better. Anyone have any thoughts?
  21. desktop or laptop? If laptop then maybe. If desktop then NO. its super easy on both but i would understand if you dont want to do it on a laptop.
  22. your i7 may be slightly better in terms of IPC.
  23. really? thats like 20 dollars then the PC costs new lol.
