  1. It could be multiple reasons, both software and hardware related. If you haven't re-installed windows/drivers after the upgrade I would start with the software side of things. On the software side I would try removing my GPU driver fully with Display Driver Uninstaller and putting a new one manually (using the integrated GPU from the CPU in the process) or maybe even fully re-installing windows. Have in mind windows will start installing updates in the moment you have connected to the internet after the installation. On the hardware side I would have tried to using one stick in each ram channel to see if it faulty ram or channel. If the RAM and the channels are fine I would try re-seat the CPU and check for bent pins.
  2. Hi, I have this strange situation that when I connect my GPU with HDMI cable to the motherboard its passing all LED debug checks and they all turn off ( CPU, RAM, VGA ), but when I switch to display port the LED for VGA stays turned on although the monitor and everything works (the monitor turns on when the windows starts loading). I wounder if I need to do anything in the bios, I have turned off the integrated GPU, but it didn't change a thing, so I'm out of ideas. Is it something I'm doing wrong or this is typical behavior ? This are the current parts in the system and the monitor: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 4.5 GHz 16-Core Processor ($558.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: be quiet! 3. Technically I don't need 16 cores all the time, but I prefer having a few extra cores idling from time to time then not having them when I need them. My idea with the CPU is to put it on max 85C profile with some undervolting ( something like -20mv or -40mv ) to reduce power consumption and heat. To be clear I don't really care about RGB. For all intense and purposes the case can be without a glass window too. Optional cooler can be Fractal Design Celsius S36 Black for around 85€ . I can get a different one , but they are all with the same radiator size so I don't see why to spend more money one it. The case Azza Aero doesn't look bad considering airflow. I went with the be quiet! Silent Base 802 because of the versatility of both having an option for silence or airflow depending on what you like, but its not a cheap case. I will take it under consideration. I never heard of Mushkin Vortex, but for that price I can't find anything like it as specs. If the spec are legit it looks like a good deal. I also see both of you suggest going with B650 board, so I will look up some B650 board to see what they have and don't have ( other then PCI-e lanes ), the cheapest one locally I found is MSI PRO B650-P WIFI . Thanks for the suggestions.
  4. 1. Budget & Location I don't have a fixed budget, but in the same time I don't want to overspend the parts. I can buy from most of the EU retailers. 2. Aim The machine will be used for VMs, local servers and gaming. 3. Monitors I'm currently using two 27'' monitors with resolution 2560x1440 and 144 (165 overclocked) Hz refresh rate. 4. Peripherals No peripherals needed. 5. Why are you upgrading? Before the pandemic I was traveling more and then I got laptop, but since then I started using it as a PC and I want to get an actual computer to replace it. Currently I'm thinking of something like this: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/9T3Lxs I can order the same parts from single locally store with this current prices (all include VAT). CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X ~ 700 € Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI ~ 400 € PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P3 Platinum 1000W ~ 230 € RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 5600MHz Kingston FURY BEAST RGB AMD EXPO (CL36) ~ 205 € CPU Cooler: be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 ~ 95 € Case: be quiet! Silent Base 802 Window Black ~ 180-200 € SSD: 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 NVMe ~ 165 € I have 8TB HDD in case I need some extra storage in the PC. The case is coming with two be quiet! Pure Wings 2 140mm in the fron and one in the back. If the airflow its not sufficient I will add more fans later, but for the moment I'm thinking of leaving the stock configuration. I'm not 100% sure about the air cooler, but I'm thinking it should be fine with 250W TDP. Maybe I can also go with B650 board, but I'm just not sure if it will be worth the savings. For the moment I'm waiting to see benchmarks, retail prices and availability for 7900XT and 7900XTX to see what the GPU prices will look like after that. I know the power supply can be a bit overkill depending on what GPU I go for, but I like the brand the the available connectors. I'm open to suggestions.
  5. The monitor is using the external graphics , because its connected directly to the GPU in order to have G-Sync enabled. I'm thinking of giving it another go at uninstalling and installing the Intel driver, because I'm not sure if the Windows Update did no do something with it.
  6. Update. I have connected the laptop to an external monitor and closed the lid, so its only using the external video card. Since then I had no more blue screen problem, so I'm guessing its something with the integrated graphics card (maybe a driver issue). If someone has an idea for me to test would be nice.
  7. Hi, I'm getting BSOD very often while watching YouTube or Twitch on my laptop. From what I gathered It looks like it happened when the integrated video of card is getting under load so I was thinking it could be a Intel driver issue or something like that, but I have no idea what to do. I have send the laptop once to the manufacturer for that problem and they have replaced the motherboard ... The laptop is still in warranty and it has insurance , but I think even if I send it one more time it won't change a thing and I feels like its a software / driver issue. Laptop specs: Model: Acer Predator Triton 500 CPU: i7-9750H GPU: RTX 2060 Here are is a zipped file with information. If anyone has ideas or suggestions please help. Edit: Forgot to mention: Currently I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64 ( is even someone running 32 bit a this point ?), I have used Windows 10, its the same result ...
  8. I have started testing random things and after removing one of my hard drives now everything is back to normal. I guess I will have to find out what is wrong with that drive. EDIT: I looks like there is some problem with my caddy that I used in place of my DVD as swaping the HDD did not change a thing. I guess I will have to check what is wrong with the caddy ( or the SATA port for it ... ).
  9. I have disabled all services in the "System configuration" (msconfig) and still get 14-15% CPU usage without running any programs on my own.
  10. I have looked at that article and the suggestions are to reinstall drivers , do clean boot and run scan and repair commands. All drivers look up to date. The clean boot and restore/scan commands did not help. It ran for more then a few hours. The only thing I can do with drivers is to search in the exact manufactures for newer drivers then the one I have , but I'm not sure if this will help.
  11. Hi, I'm using Windows 10 64-bit on ASUS G750JS with i7-4700HQ running at ~3.3GHz and 16GB RAM. The system process "ntoskrnl.exe" is using around 15-20% of my CPU non stop no matter what I do even after complete re-installation of windows. I have checked here and there for ideas on what to do, but nothing worked. So far I have checked that all my drivers are updated. Installed all available updates for windows 10, stopped "superfetch" and some other services, did a full system antivirus scan, but the problem remains. Does anyone have any ideas ?
  12. It looks like cleaning the slots or/and the RAM pins did the trick, as switching up the RAM sticks and cleaning them in the process did work for him. Now it recognized 7,5 GB as "usable" ( the rest should be for video card or some other windows BS). So if anyone else wants to know it looks like the laptop HP Pavilion DV6 3055eq works fine with 2 x Corsair 4GB (8 GB) of RAM on 1600 MHz, the only thing is that its setting the RAM back to 1333 MHz which it was expected. Thanks for the suggestions.
  13. He is using Windows 7 Home 64 bit windows and he told me that the both sticks are recognized and showing in AIDA as 1600MHZ (800MHz) this is all I know. I told him to test the sticks one by one in order to check for issues with the RAM or the slots and I'm waiting on a response from him. Just wanted to check with you guys if anyone else had similar problem.
  14. A friend of mine wanted to buy 8 GB of RAM for his laptop HP Pavilion DV6 3055eq , but the RAM that he get for some reason its not fully recognized. ( 2 x Corsair 4GB (1x4096MB) DDR3 1600MHz (1x204 SODIMM, Unbuffered) ). His laptop is with AMD Phenom II N620 Dual-Core Pocessor 2.80GHz and I think it should have recognized the RAM as 8GB with 1333 MHz , but currently its showing him that he has usable 3.24GB out of 8GB RAM and its working at 800 MHz (from AIDA64). He is using 64 bit windows, so I know this its not the issue. I was thinking it could be a compatibility issue with the motherboard or the processor , but I'm not sure. The laptop its old and I was not able to find any specification as for how much RAM it can work with. Originally it was with 2x2GB RAM sticks working at 1333 MHz. Do you have any ideas why the RAM its not recognized ?
