  1. Hey VettleBot, thanks for the advice but I might just stick with the 970. It's a lot cheaper and I don't think I'm really going to utilize the 980 to it's full potential. The monitor looks pretty great though, I'll definitely check it out and read up a bit more on it. Thanks brob, I completely overlooked the motherboard being overclockable. The cpu cooler you suggested looks pretty awesome, I think I'll add that to my build. I'll have a look at the monitors you suggested too, thanks I intend on using the psu for future builds too as it has a 10 year warranty Hey JebKerman, thank you so much for reminding me about the OS! Thanks for the suggestion about the 4690, I'll have a look at it As I mentioned about, I was thinking about using the psu for future systems as well due to the long warranty.
  2. Thanks Atmos! I don't suppose you'd be able to suggest a good monitor that would suit my needs?
  3. Hey Everyone, I was looking at building a computer last year, but ran into some financial issues. I've finally managed to save up enough for what I think will be a pretty good build for a few years to come. I'll mostly be using this computer for programming, moderate gaming, some graphics work, and just everyday use. I was hoping someone would be able to look over it and let me know if it's a decent build and let me know if there's anything I may have missed. I was also hoping someone would be able to suggest a monitor, keyboard and mouse for me which is good quality but not too expensive. I'm willing to go up to $2500 AUD, but would rather keep the price around $2000 Thanks in advance! 4. This actually looks pretty cool but I think I'd need more storage and ram. I'd also prefer a smaller case but this gives me a good idea of what I'll be getting. Yeah, I was including the screen in that price but I'm willing to go up to $2500 to include everything. The prices for electronics in Australia are quite overpriced in comparison to the US unfortunately. Honestly, I'd prefer Intel over AMD but that's only because I don't know too much about them. I was planning on originally just getting a single 1080p monitor but then getting one of two more within the next year. Would you happen to have any suggestions on a microphone? I really like the look of this and the case looks really awesome. I might just add an SSD to it and swap out the hard drive for a larger one. Is the 980 really worth getting over the 970 though? What would the advantages be?
  5. Hey Everyone! I've decided to build my first computer but I don't really know which parts I should get. I was hoping some of you might be able to help me. The computer will mostly be used for graphics work (maya, zbrush, photoshop, illustrator, after effects), a little audio production, and I'd also like to learn programming. A few of my friends really want me to get into gaming so I'll probably be doing a bit of that too. Although the title says $2000, I'm willing to go up to $2500 because I'm also going to be needing a microphone (I was thinking of getting the Yeti but i'll take any other suggestions), a webcam, OS, monitor, keyboard and mouse. It'd also be really great if the case wasn't too big so that I was able to carry it around if i needed to. I probably won't be over clocking anything because I'm a bit scared of damaging something. Also, I'd love for it to be able to last me at least three years without really having to upgrade anything.
  6. Thanks for the giveaway guys! I'd definitely have to say that my favourite item is the Kuhler 1250 because of the temperature controller LED lighting it has. It's something I haven't seen before and it's pretty awesome.
