  1. Before you take the card apart, have you adjusted fan curves and made sure it isn't running in a stock "quiet" mode?
  2. As has been mentioned a couple times already, the Meshify S2 is a great case.
  3. Here's one weird trick you can do to get that GPU you want. Open a savings account and then put a little bit of money into it on a regular basis. If you do that your odds of getting the GPU you want will be 100%, as opposed to the <0.0001% odds of winning a lottery.
  4. Battlefield V. It looks amazing on ultra, has Ray Tracing and, despite some of DICE's screw ups around the game, is an extremely fun Battlefield game that you should get a few hundred hours out of.
  5. I have the PG279Q (I love it) and if you really want to get the most out of it while still keeping games at mid to high settings you are going to want a 2080 at least. As far as the case, I have a Fractal Meshify S2 that has plenty of room for my 2080 ti.
  6. EVGA has the FTW series cards that are triple fans. I've never owned an MSI gpu but the 2070 Super Gaming Trio does have very good reviews from sources that I would trust.
  7. Consult your MOBO manual but I'm pretty sure your GPU should be in PCI_E1.
  8. You need to specify a budget otherwise the only answer is a 2080 Ti since it's demonstrably the most powerful card for gaming available.
  9. ASUS or EVGA (in that order) in my opinion. If your budget allows for it I'd recommend RTX 2070 Super STRIX OC.
  10. I just bought a Corsair rm750x, I can't hear it.
  11. Personally i'm most excited for them to announce in 5 years that they have finally developed a credit card you can put directly into a wallet or pocket of your jeans and have the whole world fellate them for being the first to develop such an innovative and life changing product.
  12. Sweaty palms & heart palpitations when in the final 5 of PUBG. That and transforming from the stealthy killer that got me into the top 5 to a guns blazing, "can't possibly be killed now", idiot.
  13. You forgot to mention that you don't want to pay the retail price or you would just buy it from Microsoft.

I prefer the Logitech M705, it's very comfortable to use during long periods of modelling.
  15. Can you screenshot your graphic settings? Are they quite different from what Geforce Experience recommends? BFV, and really all the recent Battlefield games, require your system to do some heavy lifting compared to most other games so a 3600 & 2070 won't necessarily kill it.
  16. When you say frame drops do you mean "tearing"? Serious question, do you know what V Sync is?
  17. My understanding is that this one isn't going to be just another yearly iteration like everything that has come out since those 2, but we shall see. From what I've seen & heard of the game so far I'm not writing it off just yet although there is still something about COD's guns and the way they look and sound compared to Battlefield that makes them seem unrealistic in comparison but maybe that's just me.
  18. Thanks, so I should probably not set the exhaust fan sensors to the CPU temp sensor?
  19. Does anyone use Smart Fan 5 in the bios of the Aorus Z390 mobo? I have 3 exhaust fans that I'm trying to optimise. I have a Corsair H110 pro as my intake/cpu cooler which is connected to the CPU header. I currently have 3 case fans (3 pin fans) connected to system fan headers on my mobo, but they are always running at under 600 RPM regardless of the CPU temp during load. Maybe this makes sense though as they are sensing the temp in the case (which is under 40C) and not the cpu which would explain why they are running so low. In the Smart Fan 5 monitor drop down do you set each fan individually that is listed there or are you changing which sensor is being used to control all fans for the whole system?
  20. Since my PSU only came with the daisy chain style, am I OK to use two seperate cables and just tie the daisy chain part back?
  21. Does your monitor even support 144hz? If it doesn't have a display port connection I'm thinking it doesn't.
  22. I've got my 9700k on a Aorus Z390 Pro being cooled by a Corsair H100i PRO. I decided to shoot for the stars and started my OC at 5.1 Ghz, initial voltage of 1.3. I used Cinebench 15 as a quick stability check, I got a BSOD until I increased the voltage to 1.33. At 1.33 I was able to run Cinbench & Time Spy with pretty solid results, but when I moved onto Prime 95 my first few attempts failed almost immediately. In Prime I ran the smallest FFT test and disabled AVX, I have an AVX offset of -3 set in my bios. After increasing the voltage by .01 after every failure I got up to 1.35 volts and failed again. At this point I decided to run a Prime test with AVX on, it started running fine as my CPU went to 4.8Ghz but the temperatures were starting to touch 100C so I stopped the test. I then ran another test with AVX disabled and for some reason this time it ran for 20 minutes at 5.1 Ghz and 1.35 volts before BSOD, the temps were fluctuating from the mid 80's to mid 90's. From what I can see, keeping the 9700k under 1.4 volts and 85C is ideal, should I keep pushing forward on the voltage to see if I can get it stable in Prime or just accept that I didn't win on this chip and dial back the clock? I know it's not stable if I'm crashing in Prime95 but if I only use this PC for gaming and I can get great results in bench marks, should I worry less about crashing in Prime?
  23. Have you searched for any local fiber providers? I lived in Saratoga Springs for a few years and used Avative Fiber. It was only $50/month for 1gb up/down, but there customer service was pretty much non existent because they are so small. I know you can get Google fiber in SLC & Provo, but you might be too far north.
