    I had the "Display driver stopped working and has recovered successfully" error pop up rarely recently after I installed 14.9 drivers on my 280x, reverted to 14.4 and it's been fine for a week now. Maybe you can try different WHQL drivers(13.12, 14.4. 14.9), also disabling hardware acceleration on adobe flash play might help...

    The new GTX 900 series is alot more energy efficient and would be a nice upgrade from my current 280x
