  1. Sometimes it is sometimes it isnt - I've managed to get it open now without it crashing but as soon as i close it its gonna not respond again
  2. I dont have the clients email password so i wouldnt be able to access it via a web browser. Its an email with the provider being his businesses domain
  3. I've got a clients laptop here and the Outlook 2013 (windows 8.1) keeps crashing. It goes into Not Responding mode and stay that way. I've tried to end the task in task manager after that as the X wouldnt close it. Didnt work - Tried Taskkill in CMD - didnt work. It doesnt go away till you restart the machine. What are my variables i need to eliminate here to get it working again? (There are like 3000 emails on the outlook when i checked at a working stage)
  4. Thanks for the help guys. I guess i'll just look the other way and ignore him next time he brings it up. As you can see from this thread - im a pre-noob when it comes to networking. What would you say would be the best way or most efficient way for me to learn or improve on my networking knowledge? Im currently working on my CompTIA A+ then on to my Network+ and the dream is to get my CCNA One day x)
  5. Technicolor TG589VN v3 - Very old and literally makes screetching noises; But i havnt done any port forwarding from my PC to the router yet - but if im not mistaken i cant be the only one opening ports on my system - because then his system would also show up on the logs
  6. Or atleast make me look like the bad guy - with ^ that being the hoped for outcome
  7. If thats indeed whats happening in this case how do i stop him from scanning my IP's ports that its appearing in the router logs, or how do i scan his IP's ports so that it does :P?
  8. I did overhear him say to someone else that its someone thats pinging my IP or scanning my IP's ports
  9. In the process of doing so but moneys always a problem. Busy working (literally and figuratively) on it and have it as my main option. But again for most likely the following few months im still stuck with him and i'd like to put his IP on this IDS thing for a change so it can make him look catastrophic and not me
  10. Its just who he is. I've given up on trying to fix him as the problem so i might just as well as isolate him from the other issue here. Pretty much just want to find out why his PC isnt showing up under that IDS thing and why mine is
  11. I (on the worst degree ever of unfortunately) am forced to share my network with my brother. I only use it for business; gaming and VoD streaming. Gaming being the main. Now my brother - is showing these logs to the person who owns and is paying for the network - and its making them consider to remove my access... Id like to know what it is - how to get rid of it and why it is only doing it to my local-ip and not his. He is telling them "IDS" is standing for "Intrusion Detection System" that is scanning only my computers ports and making it sound catastrophic. Please view the router log below and tell me what you think. Thanks - IP's have been blurred for security purposes (But be assured the target IP after all "IDS" reports is my PC's private IP).
  12. Hi im looking for a good open air case for my test bench im busy building Sofar the specs of my build isnt anything insane - Your average mATX Mobo as of right now; dead average sized PSU and 1 ssd + hdd The only 3 openly available in my country on the online markets are: LIAN LI T1 T1A Test Bench Chassis - Silver ($70 converted after shipping; importing and VAT) Lian-Li PC-T80 Black (The one im MOST likely to take (but pricey - $180 converted after shipping; importing and VAT) Lian-Li PC-T60 ($100 converted after shipping; importing and VAT) If you know of any better ones that i will most likely find available in my country please let me know. I do have corporate access to tech-importing suppliers but evens with then those 3 would be the only open-air chassis sold here. Thanks
  13. Well if theres windows 10 already on there - theres no need to go out and get a new one - Just reset windows within itself. Check this link to see how its done - http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/reset-windows-10-pc
  14. Do it this way and your windows wont be lost but select the right things and all the other guys files will.
  15. REDDIT IS A LIFE SAVER! https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/43ilps/best_gta_5_settings_for_the_gtx_970_hands_down/ No more lag spikes If someone has a Reddit account please thank this guy on behalf of me
  16. Another thing - Currently when the frame drops occur - CPU usage goes down from 45'ish to 1 when at 1fps. Im at my wits end right now. Please help
  17. Hi My GTA has always run perfectly on my current config without drops. It started two to three months ago with my frames constantly dipping, freezing and resulting in frames as low as 1 fps. My current in-game settings ( Hasnt changed since the last year ): Need I state this for any tl;dr commenters - All my settings are the Default settings. My systems specs: When I play GTA - as previously shown in this forum - GPU usage drastically spikes down to 1 or evens 0% usage. Memory usage chills around 85% to evens 97% usage when playing GTA - But has no correlation to when drops/spikes occurred such as the GPU which had a direct correlation. What i've tested sofar: If you've read up to here - Thanks Appreciate any help
  18. I know which Private IP his is if that makes it faster than having to tracert to it
  19. Well - Using Colasoft Capsa i was able to see exactly what sites were accessed and what was shared between the users. I then went to the firewall of the one PC and noticed 'Alljoyn Router' as only having access to private/work networks and not public which made me suspicious. (After some research its microsofts implementation of the IoT to make it easier for software developers to detect/communicate to nearby devices?). I disabled the service and after that i could no longer view the IP conversation going on between the two "persons" discussed in the scenario - As if it ahd stopped conversating I take that back - It has once again just popped up that that PC is accessing the HTTP logs How do i simply restrict/block access to and from that IP?
  20. Where do i make sure whether or not it is encrypted data? Right now i use Colasoft Capsa to monitor my networks and thats where i noticed the scenario above take place between 2 PC's on the same subnet that the one was illegally accessing the others HTTP info
  21. --> == Wired connection ADSL Line --> Router --> Person 2 --> Person 1
  22. Hey. I'd like to do a little bit more research into the topic above. Now im no network admin - and what little i know compared to professionals is scary. Never the less - i'd like to learn. Let me set the scenario: There are 2 people on the network. Person 1 and Person 2 - connected to the same router; both on separate PC's. Person 1 just accesses the web; googles; streams video and plays games. Person 2 does the same; But monitors the network with an unknown software. Is it possible for Person 2 to view the packets sent from Person 1 (basically viewing the sites/domains visited) as they're both connected using the same router? & What options does Person 1 have to revoke Person 2 from access to this information? (Like blocking IP conversation with that IP) Both parties have access to each other's mac addresses if that helps
  23. If they're actually of good use - the other companies that is - then i'd say the competition will be very healthy
