Hello, does anyone know how did that happen?
So i was building a PC for a friend with specs:
-Ryzen 5 3600,
-16Gb corsair vengeance RAM,
-Aorus B450m MB
-Be quiet 600W PSU
-Be quiet Shadow rock 2 Cooler,
- MSI GTX 1660Ti VENTUS XS.
+ some storage
I finished build and pressed power button and nothing happened, i checked if everything is connected as it should be and everything was fine. After I took GPU out of the system it powered on normally. I then took GPU from my PC (gtx 970) and put it into the build i was working on, and it powered on normally, i checked bios and everything seemed fine. Then I took the new 1660Ti and put it into my pc, and as soon as I turned my pc on I smelled the smell of burned electronics, so i unplugged pc as fast as i could.
After i took the 1660Ti out of my pc, it powered on fine.
So I am a bit confused why did that happen, I would appreciate if anyone could tell me what i did wrong or did i just had bad luck and got faulty GPU in the beginning and warranty should cover it.
My pc:
-i7 4790k (OC 4.7GHz)
-16gb corsair vengeance ram
-corsair h100i
-asus strix gtx 970 <-- not OC
-Asus maximus VII hero
