The system has a 6700HQ in it, and allows for 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4. It has a nvme ssd samsung hybrid. I believe that does use up pci lanes, so this might be an issue to deal with. If the 970m could be managed down to 8x if it is not already, and the two external gpus already connect in a 4x lane config. Minus the possible nvme issue, it was almost like this laptop was built with this project in mind. lol

After a little research i have found that you can easily update the system to 32 gigs of memory, and the system indicate three listed graphics options in bios. Integrated skylake, a nvidia gfx, and a blank one. I would imagine that the blank spot is for the amplifier. That tells me while running a separate hv manager, like in the 2 gamers one pc vid, you could manage to pass-through 4 different gpus. However, you are going to be limited to two cores each. You could split the current AW model down to hv: 2 core 4 gigs memory each vm: 3 cores. 6gigs memory. (i am not sure if having an odd number of cores could cause issues)

The new (well last year's model) AW laptop has both a thunderbolt 3, and a proprietary pci connector. This is a skylake machine, and the architecture supports vt-d. Since a thunderbolt 3 connection can support an external gpu, and we have the razer core which will work on any thunderbolt (DSL-6540/6340) connector. Could we not create a single hypervisior, and run two clients utilizing the different external cards? Unlike the Razer the AW has a discrete gpu, so we can interact with the hypervisior while operating the two clients. I believe in the "7 gamers one pc" video it was a must for every pc including the HV to have discrete graphics cards. The AWR3 models have 970m & 980m, so I am not sure if that would be considered a possible 3 gamer, or would be needed for the HV. I don't entirely know how the AWXXR3 models handle switching between the external gpu, and the discrete gpu with the system. However, from general review videos it would seem a system restart is neccessary with a switch. Unlike the Razer, which is plug and play. This may be an issue in setting a third gamer, or even just 2 as theorized above, as you might lose connectivity with one as the other is connected. I don't think consumers have access to the Razer Core yet, but i would think that a group such as LMG would by now. I am still a newb at virtulization, so I apologise if I have missed something big here. I would appreciate any input, as I am an owner of a AW17R3, and would love to try this when the core's availability opens.

nda or no nda, i have a hard to imaging 30 people staying silent about wining. I think people wont know until they are looking at the list of videos on lg's site come Wednesday. The worst thing anybody could do now is to pester the judges, and constantly re-post (outside of this forum). I still will be checking my email ocd style though

Thanks! Yeah i was trying to mimic that iconic scene from 2001 space odyssey. At least linus & lewis prbly have some help going through the videos. Imagine poor jahova. I think he is a one man operation. I think he is married, so he might get some help in that there, but these guys are all going to be a little salty after watching 10+ hours of these.
